So Damn Ugly
You're so Damn Ugly,

not a blemish or a scar.

You're so Damn Ugly,

that's what they told me on Nashville Star.

(vrs1)
I went on the show about a month ago

to try and make my fame.

Got shot down in the very first round

and now the whole world knows me by name.

(Chorus)
I'm so damn ulgy,

Not a blemish or a scar.

I'm so damn ugly,

I know I heard it on Nashville Star.

(vrs2)
Shelton said it loud in front of a crowd,

I bowed my head in shame.

Now I go all around back in my home town,

They all just call me by name.

He's So Damn Ugly,

Without a blemish or a scar.

He's So Damn Ugly

So they Told him on Nashville Star

You're so Damn Ugly,

not a blemish or a scar.

You're so Damn Ugly,

that's what they told me on Nashville Star.

Should it not be us  ??  Because of : "They all just call me by name."

I really like this a lot, a very clever lyric. I really do hear it as a wonderful country song, tongue in cheek, in your face. We need more real songs like this! I mean that!

This subject has been touched on in these forums recently, that you can write your frustrations into a song but will people necessarily accept/understand/relate to such blatant unimaginative expressions of the world around us?

I think you've put some 'important issues' in such a poetical way that a lot of people will not only fully enjoy but also understand and 'take on board' the message within.
As compared to "Fuck off I hate you!"!!!

Guess ye what??
I was listening to the television on usa network when the Nashville Star chimerical came on.. Blake Shelton one of the judges was spliced in for maybe three seconds exclaiming "Your just so damn ugly".. so I penned that down very quickly before I lost it..
Yea there are some first, second and third person errors I needed to have proofed and edited.. sowwy bout the confusion...  it does seem to be up there with at least a top 100 spot.. don't cha think? ya think anyone will pick it up? I mean I got one chance at a solicited submission..  not easy to get any of the pub. companies to accept anything.. oh well.. I digress!!

thanks bro... I do appreciate it!

blessings,

Dan

well..
because of the specific television commerical, it would change the whole song.. I do hope it doesn't offend you in anyway either glandy..  I know I feel it when i pass a mirror.. guess that's just one of the lesser reasons I was never much for cocaine.. couldn't stand looking at my reflection in the little mirror!

hmmm
I kinda had a similar idea.. the last chorus would be a whole bunch of peeps kinda shouting the first parts of it.. "You're So Damn Ugly"..  or at least as many peeps as I could put together then do some cleaver  fx and dubbing tricks.. ain't it neat to know other's see things the same way you do? I think so!

blessings,

Dan
