Spoons
Haha, this song is fun for me to play. The chord progression has been around for many years, but there's no harm in recycling it again...
Anyways, I wrote this quite a while ago, I had no inspiration other than "I feel like writing a song called Spoons", so it got made, and I refined it not too long ago. Some parts of the song are just plain fun, whereas some other parts came out with a little more meaning than I intended. Hope you enjoy it anyhow.

Spoons
Na na na na na na na...
Na na na na na na na...
Spoons
Just Spoons

What a waste, what a waste of time,
Sitting on your porch, sipping your wine,
While you're playing your spoons for the world to hear,
With the sun in your face and this song in your ear,
Singing na na na na na na na...
Play your spoons the world will hear,
I say na na na na na na na...
Waste my time, with this song in my ear,

Na na na na na na na...
Na na na na na na na...
Spoons
Just Spoons

Who am I, who am I to say,
I want this, want this anyway?
While I whistle this song from my balcony,
The world isn't what it used to be,
Singing  na na na na na na na...
Sing this song and they will see
Na na na na na na na...
The world isn't what it used to be,

And we will go, our own ways,
As we all move out, on our own and we will,
Go our own ways, as we're departing,
Starting to find a regular beat,

Na na na na na na na...
Na na na na na na na...
Spoons
Just Spoons

Na na na na na na na...
Na na na na na na na...
Na na na na na na na...
Na na na na na na na...

Goodbye forever, hope to see you again,
Goodbye my brother, goodbye my friend, as we say,
Goodbye tomorrow, I'll see you very soon,
Yesterday's gone behind, behind the moon.

So, that's it. How well do you think the literal outro works? (literal as in goodbyes, not as in goodbye moon, silly...)
I noticed kind of, that bits were about growing up and moving on, and the main part is kind of letting your hair down and having fun. Do you see my accidental and intentional meanings? Do you like it? Do you think something's wrong with it?

Cheers guys, love the feedback, both positive (warm, fuzzy) and the constructive critisism (the truth) I take it all on and thank you all.

Mm! I'm not impressed WB, stooping so low to achieve so little!
I mean actually sealing lyrics from Status Quo and The Beatles, No unpardonable!

I really like :
Who am I, who am I to say,
I want this, want this anyway?

I like but don't relate to the spoons thing so I'll keep my comment so too!

Lol, I haven't heard, or aren't familiar with those songs (different generation).
Actually, the chord progression (a basic A min, F, C, G...) similar to Iggy Pop's "The Passenger", which, coincidentally has la la la's in it, but this song was completely taken off in progression, dotted rhythm and la la's (my na na's sound different, of course).

Doesn't have the la la's in the second lyric, but they are there!

Anyway, just a fun song I felt like sharing with you guys.
