Drug of Hate
Here's a short one from my past, I will post audio soon enough.  Any comments most appreciated.

Iíll fly away with my drug of hate,
Fall asleep, hope itís not too late,
To find the places in my mind
That latent consciousness seems to hide.

Every day I wonder why,
Time slows down and birds can fly,
To places held behind the door,
While Iím asleep on the floor.

Quickly think of things to say,
Talk of good times far away,
From the couch you sit on now
And the life you have laid down.

Laid down, Laid down,
Laid down.

Waking up with a taste of hate,
Failing memory of the late
Hours lost in doped time,
Tell yourself itíll be just fine.

Choruses heal all troubled minds,
Thoughts are soothed in rhythmic rhyme,
Illuminates the paths we choose,
Rock & Roll, Punk and the Blues.

And the blues, And the blues,
And the blues.

Very nice piece of writing.
Tis funny but the weight of the words make the rhyming seem unnecessary ..... Like a good Cohen song, the conviction behind the words holds its own.
So if you made this 'story' a song and not a poem, it (the story) would find it's flow in the music .... and not so much in finding a good rhyme for it ....

Thanks for the comments lads, I think I have got a decent framework for this as a song now Kings, you are right though the words kind if made it themselves, infact, I have a few songs waiting to be recorded that I will post soon, just a lack of a band, any decent recording equipment and space is holding me back  , I will work out something though!
Sorry, you do not have access to post...
