"A Heart Never Dies," They Say |
So, this song is actually quite long, because it's done in 4 movements. I'm not sure if I'll eventually cut it up into 4 different tracks, or if I'll keep it as one 8:43 minute song (approximately). I dare not post it until I get home again though, because the quality is terrible with the stuff I have. I don't want to disgrace the song. Besides, I haven't got the time to make a full recording anyway.
So anyway, here it is. *sigh* lemme know what you think.
Words that are in the lyric that have {braces} around them are words that, in written form, make the text make sense, while in the sung version, it's actually very diminished to fit the rhythm better.
Words in (parinthesis) are words that are done in a background vocal track, usually overlapping a bit where the main vocal is holding a note.
The words can still be moved around a bit, but I think I'm about settled on what I've got so far:
"A Heart Never Dies," They Say
I - Stoic: A Lesson To Be Learned ----------
"One year" to "one day" to "once more,"
You can talk and do the usual,
While the key to your Mind, your Heart of Hearts lies,
buried in your history
Who dares enter but the one in love enough to die?
Who dares love enough to try?
You can talk and do the usual,
While you hide your Heart within the thorns
So graceful, you turn and spin,
In time to the riddles within your soul
You look so cold
No amount of shame, applause, or fame could stop you now
(...stop you now)
And your don't even flinch,
I can tell it's so hard,
To get up and do what you do with a smile,
pressing forward
And you don't even flinch as they scrape across our hands
While the key to your Heart of hearts lies buried in there
And you don't even flinch...
[musical interlude ... about 25 seconds]
II - Uneasy Does It ----------
When her eyes are seen,
a pale green,
Flashing through the shadows in there,
It becomes clear to me
That no change of weather would make her slow down
As she dances through in whirls of hair,
She smoothly spins and smiles my way (in her own way, yeah)
And that spark of life within her eyes,
Must fake all {of} this while it slowly dies,
For surely she'll fall before the night is through (NIGHT IS THROUGH)
And the pages in the books we write,
{A}bout people like her and about their lives,
Simply can't analyze deep enough
To tell me why we think she's wearing thin,
When really, she always wins
Find your voice,
Just loosen up, and sing
While calm water dances back and forth,
I sit alone and wonder,
What it's worth to,
Fall in love, to,
Fall in love, to,
Dance in thorns with you
{I'm} not convinced
That you're just fine, when you
Have nothing much to say
I sit alone and wonder,
What it's worth to,
Fall in love, this
Wind, it rushes by
It's made up my mind (for me)
{And} even all I've seen,
And dreamt up,
It can't compare to the part of me you consume
It becomes painfully real,
To think that I just might dive in too
I hesitate,
Shifting left, and right
When you notice me, I look away
Standing there, you wonder,
What it's like to fall in love...
[tempo and time signature change; musical interlude for about 15 seconds only]
III - Dance of Realization ----------
I close my eyes up tight,
I'm scared but I know I can't back down
To you, I'd love to run, but it's tearing too much at my skin
What could I do better?
Where should one go to not get torn apart?
Oh-- ah Oh-- ah [a bit of a rolling melody to bridge into the next section]
Oh-- ah Oh-- ah
(It goes from)
Eyes, Minds, Actions, and nervous Regrets,
Hope, Infatuation, {to} Things never bet on,
Wait--we know what we've Said and done
Cheers to the broken hearts,
So Smile, we'll Start all over
The faces of victory, these faces of love
The traces of certainty, sent from above [x2]
But nobody knows, so,
Nobody cares,
Except for the Apathy that lives in your heart
Nobody knows, so,
Nobody cares,
Except for the Apathy that drives you to tear this
Apart,
Away... I go, this day
Apart,
Away... I go, this day
IV - In the Darkest Hour... ----------
I swear, this isn't quite what it seems like
I didn't want to leave you alone
But the cause is plain,
This separation,
{It}'s the only thing tha can put me back into motion
I'm breathing lighter (lighter, You'll soon be)
On your own
If I had it my way,
I'd drive you back home
You're going blind--you must be--
Else you'd notice all the skinned knees, all over me
Dreams are telling me,
You've got some secret remedy
And jealousy's no answer,
But you've got to hear me through
There's a charm in writing, around your wrists
That nobody could read,
But I imagine it's got something to do with:
{A} torn-up heart,
From long ago,
Has kept you here,
{And} you're feeling so-so
A Broken life,
With no time to mend,
Has left you here
And, in sight at least, there's no end to this day
To this day
As she dances through in whirls of hair,
She stumbles once yet {she} still moves on
But surely she'll fall out before this dance is through...
Yet she just doesn't flinch...
Yet she doesn't even flinch...
As it all scrapes by,
Leaving you behind
And you don't,
even flinch...
So anyway, here it is. *sigh* lemme know what you think.

OMG! |
I love ur lyrics to this song. So what if its long! I got tears! Seriously!
hey, thanks
i was trying hard to convey a certain idea, and it took a lot of words, melodies, and rhythms to properly describe the story above... which turned it into a long piece of whateveritis.
I`m glad you liked it!

Wow, this is one big moment in time, as you watch a loved one dance and you both know that she hasn't long to live ??
Noticed this, "Dreams are tell me," I take it that its meant to read differently?
It's an epic moment though! and probably a monument of a song!
It needs a few more reads (or listens) to start fitting it together, I'll have to get back to it, it's late.
