be myself
i'll hang out
around with my friends
you'll see me anywhere
know where i've been
out by the old Mercedes Ben's

you'll always find
i'm not wearing any makeup
i'm honest with my self
i dont need anybody else
i'll be my self
i'm not hiding who i am
i'm just being honest with myself once again

kickin off my shoes
i'm strummin my guitar on
i'm singing songs about my life
if i could tell the truth
i'd tell you what i ment by
me, myself, and i
you'll always find

you'll always find
i'm not wearing any makeup
i'm honest with my self
i dont need anybody else
i'll be my self
i'm not hiding who i am
i'm just being honest with myself once again

no more mirors
no more
give it all away for free
donate it to charity
i'll drown my heart if its not the same

you'll always find
i'm not wearing any makeup
i'm honest with my self
i dont need anybody else
i'll be my self
i'm not hiding who i am
i'm just being honest with myself once again

i'll hang out
around with my friends
you'll see me anywhere
know where i've been
out by the old Mercedes Ben's

charismatic lyrics
This has a very pure, honest feeling of self-reflection to it. I think a lot of people could relate to this, and also feel drawn to the person who is expressing this - a very charismatic lyric, which is hard to find.

Good chorus, but it feels like there is to much "myself" in it. It reads better if you just take out line 5, and it would say:

you'll always find
i'm not wearing any makeup
i'm honest with my self
i don't need anybody else
i'm not hiding who i am
i'm just being honest with myself once again

If this messes up a rhythm that you have in mind, just leave that space as an instrumental line. Or you could change it slightly - as an example:

you'll always find
i'm not wearing any makeup
i'm honest with my self
i don't need anybody else
i'm done sitting on the shelf
i'm not hiding who i am
i'm just being honest with myself once again

I'm picking on the chorus because it has to be really perfect, because it dominates the song. But the verses are all good and thoughtful. I especially like:

you'll see me anywhere / know where i've been

This is where it starts to feel like you are obvious about who you are and you're just fine with it. It says, 'what you see is the real me - deal with it, because I have'.

if i could tell the truth / i'd tell you what i ment by / me, myself, and i

I like the lyrical twist, the incorporation of the cliche in a new way, and the way the rhythm seems to break up, even though the idea keeps flowing. Very nice.

i'll drown my heart if its not the same

For me, this is the emotional heart of the song. The rest of it is about what you are doing. This line is where you let us see inside, see how much you lost, and how much it means to you to get back to it. Touching. It really gets me on your side, and makes me hope that you get what you want, because you are taking such a humble and honest approach to it.

Spelling changes needed: Ben's/Benz; my self/myself; dont/don't; strummin/strummin'; ment/meant;

Overall score: Impressive

And you better respond back to this comment, like we all keep telling you!!!!!

Yea if only the owners knew half of what was going on down by the old Mercedes Benz!

I agree with simon that it's very 'me me me', but I don't think that "i'm done sitting on the shelf" would be the right line, it's too deep and meaningful, while the rest is so simple and honest and just hanging out by the Mercedes Benz.

I personally like women who don't ware make-up, and if they do just a hint to highlight.

I'd change the last line of the 3rd verse to "i'm just being honest with myself again", it would fit it better with the other verses, and may be easier to structure as a song.

Yes I can hear it sung to a chilled out guitar!
