You can't fool the children of the revolution
Inspired somewhat by the fact that someone once told me that their ex-wife had treated Mark Bolan after he'd wrapped his Mini around a tree.

You can’t fool the children of the revolution
No you can’t fool me
I’m to cool and to free
But you may with certainty, let me see
That I’ve got so much to learn

For every revolution I step into the void
Spiral through time and space and love
As I turn to you again and see you smile
You say in me
“You make me want to carry on”

No you can’t fool the children of the revolution
No you can’t fool me
As I told you, you see
As it is, it will be
Let us dance now like sycamore seeds
Adrift in time from the top of the tree

I’m a speed machine
City lights a dream
Street heat roars
Revolution scream
I am still
As a hurricane
I know it goes
The way you came

Revolutions Red
Down little country lanes
You can loose you mind, hugging trees
But don’t loose your head
Or you’ll end up dead
At the side of the road in the pouring rain

You can’t fool the children of the revolution
No you can’t fool me
I’m to cool and to free
But you may with certainty, let me see
That I’ve got so much to learn

Cheers Flyer
I'm pleased you liked those lines, so do I to be honest, they kind of stick out!

Music within, music, without!

I sing my words so I know how to express them, but actual music...

*****At long last I've been able to use that damn shaking head!!!*****

sing it, bro'
Sustained inspiration, start to finish. You did it this time! Takes some interpretation, but not too much to make me lose interest. I think it could mean more every time I read it, and even more when it is put to music. These lyrics REEK OF PERSONAL CONVICTION Doesn't matter if the mucic is GREAT. As long as it shares the same CONVICTION as the words, it will be a great song. I agree with Flyer, this is rock 'n roll - wizened patience sliding down a knife edge. Sing it, brother.
