An absent brain
my first go here..hope you like it

An absent brain

Flying here
So deadly unawake
I’ve lost my wings
And now I fall and I break away

I look down
All I see is an endless pit
Falling fast
All I wish is to swiftly faint

Bring me down as I heed
If I die in pain
Know you’re there but my sweet
Social standing evade

Where did I put my brain?
Haven’t used from many years till this day
I maybe gave it away
How stupid can I be if it wasn’t drained?

Will pay hard
For my dumb-witted mindless skull
Windfalls would
Have no use as thinking is so dull

Fashion sense occupies
Every cell I have
Waste my whole wage on buying
Useless things on sale

How can I find you now?
Did you leave...left behind an open space?
How can I get you now?
Is bribing an approach of keeping the pace?

Am I the product of our
Consumer humanity
Are we doomed to end
Brain damaged permanently..?

These lyrics seem to me to be lacking a certain direction. Your getting a message across but that mesage seems to change half way through.
IS this about sociel standing and what efects that in todays culture or is it about psychological opression.

"I look down
All I see is an endless pit
Falling fast
All I wish is to swiftly faint"

This seems to be aiming towards psychological etc.

"Fashion sense occupies
Every cell I have
Waste my whole wage on buying
Useless things on sale
and
"Am I the product of our
Consumer humanity
Are we doomed to end
Brain damaged permanently..?"

These Seem to be aimed more towards sociel standing and what effects it.
Also some lines aren't perfect English;
"I maybe gave it away"

but to honest you can be excused for those .
Despite all this though I like these lyrics. They have a presence witch is always a good thing.
Keep working on it.

Moses
actually social standing in terms of imprisonment of ideas gets you inside a pit..like you can't think for yourself..it grows in you and when you become aware you find yourself incarcerated and kept a captive of your own society..thats what absent brain is..it didnt leave. you just dont use it anymore, you do what you are told to or what you think other people want you to do or be..
thats why i tried to talk about psychological opression and social standing as a way of psychological confinement..
anyway thanks, critique if constructive is always welcome!

weow Danny, that's some serious statements you're making! praise for that...

somehow it triggers me to think of an old Ministry tune (before they went really industrial / metal) called "The Nature of Love".. it had samples in there saying "The Purpose of this experiment was to study the very nature of love itself..." and then "braindamage... braindamage..."

you're really giving some big stuff to think about here.. that's a very good thing in a lyric...

I think your reply to Moses is getting the point through stronger than the lyrics themselves, maybe because of the wild shifts in imagery... but with suitable music to them they may work really well...

exequo.. would love to hear music to this

yes but i did that because i want people to get there on their own..it doesnt have to be all linear..and i think it's best when the music makes you think instead of "heard that seen that"..well also i have a thing for unpatterned lyrics..thats why we may get lost in the middle..
