Complete Control
The last set of lyrics (3 in a row is enough for anyone!)  These were written some time ago - I've been thinking of recording this one, if I ever get the chance!!!

Complete Control

I seem to be projected
In some old spectators' sport
And though my sign waves are reflective
you don't understand my thought

I'm so wrapped up in my camouflage
That I'm missing all the news
But a long cool drink and sensual massage
Should help to mend the bruise

Your sharp edged words and stabbing remarks
Have left me pained, and almost bled
But I have a feeling, if this is to last,
then it will all be on your head.

       I need some pointers
       Where should I go?
       Disarray's in overload
Let's organise to save my soul
        .........Please!

I wash my hands of subconscious revolt
As my sane mind looks on bemused
You're advised to leave now, or so I've been told
but the message I got was confused.

I need complete control of the matter in hand
(It seems like what I'm asking for I don't understand)
I need complete control to carry me through
I usually find it easy, but oh with you
............it's so hard.

complete control
i know that when you hear lyrics set to music, it has a way of smoothing out all of the rough edges. i love lyrics that you can read and feel the flow of the song, feel the message that the lyrics convey to you. lyrics like that require continuity, a complete, fluid thought. these lyrics have some great lines(I seem to be projected
In some old spectators' sport
), great thoughts(I wash my hands of subconscious revolt As my sane mind looks on bemused), but the overall feeling that i get is somewhat disjointed and pieced together. i find that my own songs feel the same way, merely grasping at the shadow of the perfect song. d.

Not the most perfect lyrics, that's for sure!!!

But then it all depends on what you perceive the song/lyrics to be about - I meant it to refer to a kind of mental warring going on inside someone's own head; consider what it could be like having schizophrenia, and knowing about it!  That's the sort of thing.

When these were written, I'd not long finished reading the Dune books, I particularly liked the idea of being able to access your ancestor's memories - but one of the characters, Aliah, has her ancestors "living" inside her mind, and trying to take over.

The lyrics are fractured and disjointed, I agree - and the music behind them doesn't put that to rest, although it does link them loosely I suppose.  Perhaps this is another one to put on the list of songs to record.

Oh dear, I can see some long nights ahead......
