I wrote this song in 1978. I am not much of a songwriter IMO. Tell me what you think.

The Dragon

Verse 1:
The room grows dark, the candles are lit.
The boxes of sound, cry out musical witt.
With power and feeling, the sounds fill the air.
I hear voices crying, they are crying beware

Verse 2:
The essence of time it is now it is here
To you in my music, the meaning is clear.
The candles still flicker, odd shadows on the wall
The dragon grieves music, with thought and appall

Chorus:
The dragon’s amongst us and for those who didn’t feel
The funny side of life know that that is real
The dragon’s amongst us and if you don’t allready know
Watch it carefully, don’t get caught in its flow

Solo:

The dragon fades away, to another time and space
To attack the minds and souls, of another human race

Well thank you very much! And even more for the reply! Yes there is a melody and a simple chord structure to the song. It always begged for a power female voice to sing it. It was never recorded or performed except I played it camping, around the campfire once. Well, thank you so much for your interest. You just made my day!

Sounds good to me. Are you by chance playing this song through a halfstack?  . All i can say is it looks like youve got eveyrthing worked out for it so...it seems like it would work for it to become a song.
