Pickup for ac guitar? |
Just want to buy a pickup for my 30 yr old 12string. Saw the best one would be Fishman's blend pickup. But 300 Euros are too much. Looking for a cheaper pickup < 100€
Has anyone experiences with those pickups? Any special one for 12 string?

Is it for recording or live. I think you already know that I mic up my acoustics, in fact I tried recording my new 12 string with and without the built-in pic-up, the mics sounded so much better. I use an AKG 1000s condenser and a Shure SM57 dynamic, the blend of the two mics work nice, the AKG bringing out the subtle acoustic tones and the dynamic mic giving warmth and nice bass tones. I assume you have got some mics??, so it won't cost you a penny
Oh and a decent mic preamp would never go a miss.
JPB tried out a few recently??

If you are looking for a cheap (£65/€70) decent sound hole pick up (easy ton fit) do try the Fishman Neo D it's a very good work horse
But all the major brands have their type of sound hole pick up at various prices the advantage will be you won't have to cut a hole in your guitar and you'll be able to move it from guitar to guitar

Heya Triton bud...
I have been using a "Bill Lawrence" acoustic pickup for years now. It is for a full holed acoustic body acoustic 6 and 12 string and the pickup itself has an extremely full quality sound. I'm posting a link that shows the one I own is the corded one. not the wireless. Looks like they're asking under $50 US dollars, which I think is a bargain.http://elderly.com/new_instruments/items/A245C.htm
*hope this helps,

I bought one:

appr. 140 Euros, and a brilliant but warm sound.
I didn't have the time to record something with it recently. Maybe in a year or so ...
