Whats the best amp? |
im just intrested to see everyones opinion.
Guitar Bass, PA, other???
For recording or playing live?
Depends on what style of music, but the best guitar amps IMO are Mesa Boogie. You get what you pay for generally.
I still have an old HH combo AMP, probably one of the most reliable AMPS ever, I've had it for approx 30 years, it's never failed me. These days I don't play out, just produce using a line6 pod and a Yamaha AW16g hard disc recorder, it suites me.
Best you go down your local store and try some out, the important thing is that you like the sound, you could try out something else which has been recommended by many, but you could prefer it over something else.
I think it's the main goal for a musician, that is to get your own sound, a sound that can identify you from others, not only that, the sound you decide on must be one you are content with all the time, if the majority of listners then like your sound, the more people are gonna wanna listen to you music. If only it was that simple we would all be famous.....lol

a bit like Dark Side of The Moon " There is no Best AMP, as a matter of fact they are all BEST"
holy crap denis i couldnt have said it better myself
I quite like the sound of the VoX AC30 and I also like the Marshall JCM 800 (but it has such horrible treble/presence at the same time.)
Like most have said, it's down to the individual. My advise would be to go to a store where you can try some heads/cabs/combos out and turn them up. Take your guitar and play away.
