hey guys bought a nice hot seymour duncan hot rails for my tele....prob it has 5 wires stock pick up has 2...there is a diagram that came with the pick up but i dont understand the diff installs series /parralell etc  ive checked the web duncans site need helkp

i'm not sure if it is what you mean, but in serie you can use some pickups at the same time and in paralel u get one at the time is what I thought..
(If we are talking about a humbucker, it could be some wires are for single coil switch too)
