As this post is kinda old I figure you've already bought one, But thoought I bring it up anyway as I'm in gear uprade mode and looking for the best quality preamp for the money.
There are a bunch of these(just like mics) I have used the cheap ART MP and the Focusrite, the presonus, and so far my favs. Neve , and Avalon, one more was the AMEK (still basically a NEVE) console strip. I'm seeing a bunch of types and brands of pre-amps.
I know Technically that console strips are not just preamps but I'm still putting them in here as they have preamps built in.
Any thoughts on preamps or channel strips would be appreciated. looking for quality under the $1800.00 us.
