Hey guys, we were thinking about buying this drumset:

It is a Ludwig Accent CS Combo 5 Piece drumset with hardware and cymbals, PLUS an upgraded zildijan 3 piece cymbal pack AND  free drum machine ($100 value).

Its $539 and everywhere else its like $600+

My dad doesnt know if he wants to spend $500+ on a drumset though.
I want to know if this is worth it and if these are good beginner/intermediate player drums.

 Virtually the same set, same quality, and such.. Nice set, looks good, I know a place that sells these locally, for a bit more money, and they sound and play REAL GOOD...

I'd personally get a good quality secondhand kit, you will get more for your money.
I'm no expert on drums, there are a few drummers here, hopefully someone will give you some good advice.

I love Yamaha drums, they are great for studio work too.

Change of pace here.
 We can get a great deal on a Gretsch 5 Piece Blackhawk EX Blue Diamond drumset (The drums alone are worth $550)
with all the hardware pedals, stands, AND upgraded zildijan cymbals. all for $600 even.

The Blackhawk EX was discontinued because it was made with 9-ply wood...the newer models are made with 6 and 7-ply.

My guess as to why they discontinued it is because it was to expensive to make them with the 9-ply wood.
Either way, I think its a great deal, and I think those are some great drums.
I think we'll probably get those.
