To me to appreciate Hendrix, gotta of heard him live

One of the greatest three piece bands ever, playing lead with just Bass & Drums is f*****g hard work, I know cause I did it for ten years, it taught me a hell of a lot, there is nowhere to hide once you break into a solo.

Certainly one of my all time guitar and rock heroes. ChuckMangoes, you have compiled an impressive list, you have to be a Jimi freak (you're not alone, friend). Denis, a profound observation and I agree wholeheartedly. I love to listen for Jimi's ability to put a lot of music out of one little guitar (I have always wanted to learn his nice little "flourishes" he uses..those little two-note, hammer-on, pull off chords he used in songs like " Little Wing", or "Castles Made of Sand". Chuck, I probably can't name a fave album, but I can tell you I tended to prefer his live albums because of their raw energy....this will require more thought....

what i want to know is how the heck are all these dead people coming out with new albums every year

I know I love it all too. I just went up to cleavland and boy do they have an impressive Hendrix section and also an impressive audio selection from vinyl to the little tiny records that the kids use. I believe my favorite album is either the new Valleys of Neptune , Electric Ladyland or band of gypsies 1 & 2  Theres no one better than Hendrix
