Give it a Rest (for Eve) | ![]() ![]() ![]() |
It's nice to reconnect on BandAmp! I started this account when I was ~15 years old, that was more than twenty years ago. I've been writing since, mostly during February Album Writing Month so most of the songs I'm sharing are from selected February's. In the past two decades I've done quite a bit, including having a child who's now 3.5 and moving into a house with a piano.
This is a lullaby I wrote for her just before she was born in 2021 and arranged for piano. Thanks for listening and lovely to be back!

Musical & technical:
Interesting chord progressions.
Can't help, but for me it's a bit unfinished and needs some work making a great piece of it.
I heard some timing issues. It sounds as if you must think about how to place the fingers on the keys.
And I can imagine an Irish flute for the solo part at 2:35.
Emotional:
Other than that Eve will appreciate this when she's getting older. Loving fathers always do the best they can. This little piece is definately one of those "products".

Thanks so much for the kind comment. This song needs a lot of love but it's served as an enduring lullaby in our family. I've only just learned the piano so lots to work on
