Cool yes anything goes. It can be anything there are no rules, other than it can't be a cover tune. It can have vocals, but it doesn't have to.  Any style is acceptable.  Nicely done, I'll give a better review when I get a chance to hear it on something other than my phone

Your song has some very cool sounds going on, some of the synth sounds are almost like whale calls. I like it that you didn't go with the atypical 4 on the floor 808 kick sound that is in almost every EDM song now days.
It's a nice chill out type song, relaxing to listen to.  I like it.

The subtle background layers are a great part of the chilled feel.  Do you find those come naturally on your first sitting or do you ever build the song and go back to add more?

For this song it was all in one sitting. I'll keep layering until it feels right. Then maybe add one more layer. Then if I don't like how it feels I'll remove it. Thanks for listening!
