Stupid for a day | ![]() ![]() ![]() |
This is a demo I presented to the band. We are now working on a proper band version of this song.
Enjoy!
Enjoy!
I really like the "coming over the hill" feeling of the key change once it gets to the "stay awhile" line. The note right there during "awhile" is a very satisfying transition to the rest. Hope that progression makes it to the final!
Good to hear from you! This sounds like a pretty sturdy track.

Thanks! And yes the chorus is of course a defining part of the song. The band version only has a few minor changes due to the song evolving over various rehearsal sessions and arrangement wise is adapted to power trio style.

Cool tune - it has an ominous quality that draws me in. I would like to hear what the band does with it as well. Oh, and Happy Birthday PX!!
Thanks! If the site allows me to post, apparently failed to register earlier,
I posted some material on Soundcloud now, including a rehearsal version of Stupid for a day. Once the actual clicktrack-steady demo version is completed, I will put that on Bandamp.
Glad to see there are still people on here

Oh, heads up about the failed posting... for some reason single quote marks make that happen, so avoid contractions... Not sure what made that start happening because you can see posts from last year that use em without issues.
In my experience so far, if someone makes a post that gets swallowed up like that, you as the thread author will still get the notification about it, but the comment wont show on the site

Did you at last control your fear of putting vocals to the front? Good rhythm. I can hear some 70s patterns.
I could imagine to play with the light at the end of the song when you perform live.

Thanks guys,
@Marino, it seems the band shares that enthusiasm!
@Denis, thanks, I hope we can land some gigs soon,
@TK, yes - taking a different approach to mixing now, although this mix right here is a bit distorted - output levels set too high and killing the tube compression. Well it is not an album mixdown. I do think it would be a great set closer too, we shall see!

great song. love the chord changes. This just grooves, everything works, the mix is solid, the guitar tones fit perfectly. It has a classic and new sound at the same time. I love it.
