Great to experiment with chromatic chord changes, lots of my stuff are influenced chromatically, it really opens up the whole tonal spectrum of sound - and yes you can keep with the same bass line mysteriously all sounding GREAT!

There's actually a little change in the bass line in the part B where the minor third changes to a major third, to go along with the chords.
About the guitar tone, it's just my Ibanez SAS32FM trough mi POH HD500. Sometimes you can get really cool tones when you tweak that thing properly.
