You have developed a style and technique that gives you your own sound - that's an achievement in its self.
The background guitar is interesting, but I think you need to use it with moderation in this piece. 
The sound is too clean, have you tried micing up your guitar amp? - assuming you are using a DI and plugins?
I use a line 6 pod for my electric guitar recordings. It's pretty close to a miced up recording. I got mine new a few years ago for around $100.00 - you can pick one up on eBay for half that. I also have a line 6 bass pod, which is pretty good.
This piece has great potential, a little variety in the arrangement and work on getting an analogue sound would make it tops.
