Love the guitars - Great sound and riffs.
Bass nice, but not cutting through as nice as the guitars and may I say in some parts could be a bit tighter/staccato.
I know you like this vocal effect, but to me it just makes it sound weak, OK if you perhaps have it on it's own in a certain part of the song. you could try putting it through a valve pre, set high to get a distorted effect, the difference being it will give a much fatter, bigger sound.
Drums SOLID.
Overall love it - song is great.
Have you done any band videos?

Thanks for the careful listen and the comments - I really appreciate it.
I think there are two reasons why the bass didn't cut through as much as in Superstar. One is because I was playing in the lowest register - Low E, F and G for most of the song, so unless one has subwoofers going, the register might be a bit low. I was shooting for kind of a grinding rumble effect - at one point I did a tack of the bassline an octave up to cut through the mix a bit, but then I dropped it because I wanted to get that rumble effect. A big part of my desire for the rumble effect is how it feels live on stage.
The second reason is that the bass and guitar were hitting notes pretty much at the same time, so it all kind of meshed.
We stumbled on the guitar sound almost by accident. The guitarist was getting ready to do his overdub and was setting his tone. In the middle, he just hit this excellent sound and I screamed through the monitor mic from the board "STOP - THAT'S IT"! He was using a Fender Cyclone through a Vox AC15 - the other songs were mostly done with a Tele Deluxe, so this one got a bit more of biting sound - I think perfect for the riff.
As for the vocal effect... for better or worse, we were trying to get a "filthy" sound throughout the album to match the theme "Filth" and we wanted to have something of a signature sound for this album. I agree that the effect does kind thin out the vocal sound and I don't expect that we'll use this effect nearly as much in future recordings. Thanks for your suggestion on a different approach to the effect - we'll give that a try.
Anyway, thanks for the comments- as you can see, once you get me going on the project, I just go on and on... sorry...
