It’s in the battle 2012-10

It's been 5 months since I've recorded 5 new songs, and I've been waiting for my singer to come to my home studio to record the vocals, but I can't wait for it anymore. I'm uploading instrumental version of a 1 new song, which I hope you'll like. All instruments were played and recorded by me (Goran Vedriš). Drums were made with fruityloops using addictive drums sound, guitars were recorded with Line6 Pod Studio UX1, guitars used were: Squier Stratocaster Affinity with GFS humbucker pickups on bridge and neck, Telecaster Squier Affinity with seymour duncan little 59 on bridge and GFS neck pickup.
I'm not a good singer so I didn't wanted to spoil a good instrumental recording. Song is named UFO, main inspiration for it were Erich Von Daniken's books, and X Files serie. It's sort of a tribute song to Iron Maiden.
Lyrics would go like this.

As the night falls hiding clouds the bright sky's full of stars
Cold and windy dark minutes past midnight
Speeding disk shaped light hovering around
Playing on the sky paralyzing eyes

The total silence of the craft as it flew across the sky
Flushed my body burned my face shooting beams of light
Then it landed on the ground and all the lights went off
I was scared like hell I saw gray men at the door

While I was gazing at the ship the grey ones said "We come in peace"
Then came right up to me and took my hand telling me "Don' fear"
Federation of the stars has sent them out here to explore
Observing evolution long ago, they were here before

We are the children of the stars in a lifefull universe
On the 3rd rock from the Sun from apes to men we have evolved
In our history lies mystery the origins of life
UFO's were here flying high since the ancient times

In the chariots of gods the grey ones left the Earth
To visit other stars, explore the universe
Another world to see, leaving us alone
And when will they return? We will never know

first of all: great playing man!
I hope you will find a great singer for this too, less is indeed no option.
Its a neat recording too, good for the style i guess, well balanced anyway.
I do hear some light peak distortion in the 'warm fat clean stroking guitar' though...
kind of really missing the vox. I can hear Bruce in here :p

I got reminded somehow to a band named Hypertér, maybe cause they didnt do vocals as well :p

and off topic;
I once worked with a Croatian guy named Goran :p

thanks :)
Thank you very much I tried to sing it, but it's too high for me. I hope that my singer will come to his senses, and record the vocals.

This track need vocals definately.
Some parts sound synthetic. But I can't say why.

It starts off great, and indeed ends well too when the drums kick in and you speed up your playing. There's brilliant energy conveyed there. and not to mention awesome lead playing and nice git tone. Yeah, Drums  will sound much better live. Love the palm muted rhthym guitar picking and solos but I will say that I'm not a fan of that lead git sound that comes in around 20sec. I think this is maybe a substitute for the vocals? It would certainly be a good time for the singer to come in. and when you get that sorted and recorded, you could maybe replace that particular git track with the vocals and have an underlying synth sound instead to add another dimension to the song.

Look forward to hearing the next version. Great work

actually it's not substitution for vocals, vocals should come in after the guitar melodies. but thanks for review

Nice work on the rhythm and lead guitars - they work together well.
Would have liked to heard a Bass guitar? - If you roll off some bass on the rhythm guitars you could fit it in, may be try put some more reverb on the rhythm guitars so that they sit back further in the mix allowing the lead guitar to be more dominant..

I'm not listening loud, hence can't hear the bass drum cut through.

Look forward to hearing the vocal version - Find another vocalist, your vocalist is not serious - I'm sure you could get someone on bandAMP to collaborate with you

thanks. if anyone is interested in doing the vocals, i'd be glad to collaborate with this is definately not the final version of the song, so, i will fix up the little things. the biggest problem for me are the vocals. as far as i'm concerned
