Close to the final version but still missing things... it's missing that catchy X-factor
Does anyone have idea's about breaks/ melodies that might spice up the song a bit?

Yo, much tighter than the first scetch you uploaded. I like the brass riffs and the drums. Vox layers work also fine. In the bridge-part (~1:00) you could support the sycoped snare hits with some perc-loops. Something like samba-percs or so.
Mmmmmhh, the "magical" X factor............yes............difficult.
For spicing up most people use a solo which makes a song sparkling.
Or add totally different parts ( I do this often)
The X factor is an individual matter of an artist and makes him original, unique, special.
Thatīs why I canīt give a solid tip, it must come deep from your own creativity, individuality, personality as a musician.
Iīm sure youīll gonna find a satisfying solution when you keep working and experimenting on it.
