This song is not in a battle

This is the melody on a piece I would like to take further. This melody was created right after my schools performance. My friend and I sat at our piano and we found this melody. (My friend and I have been in the habit of playing electronic songs with orchestra instruments recently) We both felt that we had heard the melody before, but neither of us can place a name. So, I took it home and started playing with it tonight.

I present to you 40 seconds of what will someday be a full song.

If someone does know if another song uses this melody, please tell me! Otherwise, I hope you enjoy this happy tune!

This sounds like a pretty good hook to me, not the main melody.
I created a three note melody/s listening to it.
I'll be interested where you are going to take this - it's got great potential for a dance track

Its a generic techno sound and riff, you'll find something similar in most techno/electro sample collections ... sounds very fat and will become a kick ass track if you want it to be.

This is more an arpeggio than a melody which can be a  ..........???...base....????.......ground??.........carpet???...
on which you may lay down a melody / arrangement.
Kingīs right about originality". The prob with techno music (in my eyes) is, that itīs not innovative, it stucks in the same old structures, sounds and beats for 20 yrs.. Sterile, artifical, machinesque, monoton.
If you wanna try to create some "special", "extraordinary", "unusual", "recgnizeable" and "individual" music in this genre, my advice is this : Leave hackneyed paths and experiment with new, fresh ideas. Walk your own path.Throw all the usual, ordinary elements over board  and be courageous, courious and a lil crazy.
Iīm sure this may make your music your own. So that peops may say : "Hey ,sounds like wave 71".
Donīt let īem say: "Nice, but itīs one in a million".
Thatīs what a musician should try to achieve. Creating his own brand.

Chinese say : itīs better to make a good copy than making a bad creation."
I say  : " no, itīs better to be original (but successles)  than being just a follower."
So, itīs up to every artist to decide which path heīll walk.

I hope youīll find your own way to exress yaself. You have the capability and the tools. You just need to "lock off" your mind and set it free.

Sounds real thick and driving..I like the snare stutter roll as it builds! I'm interested to hear the final product!
