Revolutions |
Playing around with a transition from more pop-drums-and-guitar to more of a down temp bit, then to a rock vibe. Trying to see if I can add a bit of variety into the song without making it sound like different songs. Eh, I dunno. Ending is probably not very polished. I'd still call this a demo.
Feedback welcome, as always. And thanks for listening (if you do).
Lyrics for those who like them:
In time I'll fall apart,
And you can watch it all with dried up eyes.
Our life revolves around a worsening reflection of how helpless we are.
Lights out.
I don't want to talk about how every day just leads us to the same place.
I don't know if we can take it or if we'll both just fall apart.
Lights outs.
I don't want to see your face
We've aged and I can't really handle it.
Just another revolution out here in the dark.
I laugh for all the times I've failed to form connections with the world outside
And you react to me.
We push ourselves together in an effort to see.
Lights out.
I don't want to talk about how every day just leads us to the same place.
I don't know if we can take it or if we'll both just fall apart.
Lights outs.
I don't want to see your face
We've aged and I can't really handle it.
Just another revolution out here in the dark.
You can press your body against mine,
But you can't see behind these eyes.
Oh, revolution.
All this solitude- we're not handling it so well.
You can rest your body against mine.

i like this development , it brings in some.., tension?
maybe breaking up the first beat somewhere here and there ?
would be nice to get more angry on the ending, maybe bit longer too
It doesn't sound as different songs to me, just as different parts, i like that
a lot

Good suggestions, Max. Thank you for taking the time to make them.
And, thanks also for the kind words. Much appreciated.

If you want to create more change, change the drum rhythm dramatically even the kit, hence drums are the foundation. Would be interesting if you started the song structure at 2.17 then building up tension to a faster more aggressive rhythm.
All in all you have great ideas and the song just needs tweaking, my suggestions are for pure experimentation from my gut instincts.

Good suggestions also Denis!
I tell you what I keep thinking of in the back of my head but haven't been able to pull off yet- if you've ever heard "The Last Firstborn" by Celldweller (if not you should: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B9EyKCOxPyo) he flawlessly transitions back and forth between a techno/electronic vibe to a hard rock vibe throughout that song. Man I'd love to pull something like that off! So much movement.

Thanks Marino and Pablo
