I have this assignment to compose music for a couple of short films.
However, whatever I try, it always becomes far too much epic sounding.
Haha, I just like to expand things! Well, just listen.

Sounds nice. Are you using any Native Instruments stuff by chance? It has a bit of their feel to the "epic" sounds.

For some reason the choir vocals in the middle also remind me of Enya...

Go for it, it's your music, if epic is where it takes you, GO WITH IT.
The Film producer could go EPIC too.

it does sound quite epic though |PanchOK| said it well, it does sound very intriguing. It could even be a sort of quick-moving espionage/sneaking scene. 

Somewhat rigid for me but i can see the potential and for sure the composition...For my taste tho it lacks dynamics and it needs work....Im no pro so dont take my word for it!!!!

This is initiating many fantasies and associations in the listenerīs mind. Itīs a really good scetch/ idea but you should work out your ideas more consequently. Make it a real epic, a complete soundtrack.

Brianvaughn, I used L.A. Scoring strings for this one.
The horns are from Native Instruments.

I agree with both of you, Marino & ULI.
It sounds too flat, and it is unfinished. It lacks the length too be a full composition yet.

If I ever make a new version I'll post it here!
