very very old, made with an Atari and a Fostex 4 tracker (tape, remember?:-))
my mic preamp was boosted maximum, so my breathing sounds like escaping steam...,all because i did the vocals very late-night in an apartment, so i couldn't scream/yell,which i otherwise would have done. Also the lyrics are merely improvised, so that's why some words are pronounced strange
But i liked it because of the ,,steamy,, atmosphere, so i remastered the stereotrack a little with Magix, and removed the tape-hiss also...
What u think???

Took a little while to enter it into a battle?
Very interesting song. I really like the feel/mood of it. The loud whisper is a nice touch. The electric guitar kick is a nice grab. It's a nice mix. IMO, it would be a cool touch to end it at 3:36 right after the chordless strum on the electric guitar so it would drop off instead of fade out. The drum pattern is nice, yet, they don't have much warmth. I think it might be more or less the snare that bothers me, it's too high, IMO. But I like the drums overall, like I said, they've been programmed well

yeah I like this tune. The first time I listened to it (somewhere BC), I had my headphones plugged in badly and it came through weirdly distorted. Because of that, the breathy vocals instantly reminded me of something Nine Inch Nailish, but when I finally figured out the headphones jack was cranky that feeling made place for something far more tranquil.
You have a trippy style. Very interesting. I'd like to hear more of your work, especially with vocals...

still a baby geek |
I'm nowhere near as brilliant or even competant and the guy and his wife who taught me geek stuff...I know he'd say that tape hiss remover does something to some frequency that I'm not thinking of.
Everything's is on the Hz-kHz scale, so he'd tell me you want to be as absolutely clean as you can get. For example, guitar/vocal high-end feedback is at I think 6k and above. I have it written down and I can't find it.
Mind you, this is a guy who can hear phaze in very tiny incriments, which I can only hear if it's 180 degrees (which anyone would notice).
The whispering works, tho somehow the vocal fx is not stable because of what sounds like you're moving to and away from the mic or something. Proximity effect (the Jetson's car during the theme song-far away, louder, "bbbRRRRRRrrr." then quiet). My contacts are attaching themselves to my eyeballs, tho, so I could be wrong...
