It’s in the battle 2011-09

Hi all,

It's been a while since I posted anything here. Last year has been heavy for me. I had an injury, so I couldn't play much. Also one of my best friends suddenly died. This song is dedicated to you, Olaf.

I hope you like it. Lyrics:

A man with many friends
A strong roof over your head
Music made your day
Day and night
But a lost and lonely soul
With a lack of self-control
Emotions on the roll
Day and night

I just keep thinking about you
I'm failing at anything else I do
I wish that I could follow through
I just don't know

And I keep staring into space
Hoping for the slightest trace
You put a smile upon my face
Every day

You were a lion in a cage
Kept by fragile chains
Cloudy childhood troubles
That would never fade
But that smile you wore with grace
Such kindness in your face
Oh man you made my day
Day and night

I just keep thinking about you
I'm failing at anything else I do
I wish that I could follow through
I just don't know

And I keep staring into space
Hoping for the slightest trace
You put a smile upon my face
Every day

And I'm feeling so misplaced
This loss I can't embrace
I miss that smile upon your face
Everyday

Oh I just keep singing about you
I know that's what you'd wanted me to do
I know you would have pushed me through
You would tell me to hold on to my beliefs
In the face of adversity
The feeling that kept you on your feet
Gratitude

I will keep staring into space
Knowing that nothing can erase
That smile you put upon my face
Every day

And life is one big maze
An endless crazy chase
I'll put your smile upon my face
Every day

This is a wonderful, soulful and honest ballad about quite a sad subject. I can feel the pain in ya heart when you´re singing .
I want to give one suggestion about mixing the vox. In the beginning I had some problems to understand the lyrics since the vox sound a bit ´unclear`.  When you try to fix it by EQing the vox in the "treble-range" , it will genersate more carity, I guess.

I hope you´ve overcome ya injuries (physical and in ya soul).

Keep it up, RazoR

Thank you for your kind reply, U.L.I.
I think you are right, there is too much low in the mix.
I'm not really a good mixer, so perhaps I'll ask someone who can do it better.

Thanks again,

Regards,

RazoR

Nicely constructed, played, and sung.
A few issues with the mix as you've already said, but still good.  Loving the harmony vox - just the right balance of single lead with harmony to lift and fill.
Good stuff RazoR
A lovely song as a tribute to a lost friend

Thanks guys. It really means a lot to me.
I think it is really noticable when you mean the words you're singing. Right from the heart.

I hope he can hear it from above.. Thanks again!

Super emotion - sent tingles up and down my spine.
Love the song - would not change a thing.

Send me the mix vocals and piano separate, I'll remix it for you.

I know the feelings of loosing a friend
Wouldn't change anything. It's like a photograph of one special moment. And you described this moment with your wonderful composition.
Thank you.

In my opinion the "clarity" problem is more likely because you're not a native English speaker.

I really like your vocals and your timbre.

Mr RazoR!
The song was terrific. Piano and vocals. Maybe you could had just introduced drums later on in the song. After a point it was just repetitive. My mind was wanted to hear something new. I was tempted to find something new. Maybe its just me.

But beautiful composition. Really appreciate that.

Rock on.
Kasa.

P.S. I didnt judge the song on the basis of the tragic background because that would not be right to the emotions attached to it. i Rated as a listener. Hope you understand that.
