Trust in me |
A "quick" recording (about 2 hours) of a song that I've only performed once so far... still working it up so that it sounds right as a solo acoustic number.
One guitar, 3 vocals, one mistake! (and a minor issue of timing at the last verse) Recorded using Adobe Audition for speed.
This is the first song posted here for an age... would love to know what you think.

Wordy bits! |
Never lonely mostly happy
Raised in the country just by his mum
She met his dad when she went to the city
But he left before the baby was born
She said "trust in me trust in me
this is the best way to be
Trust me honey, trust in me
I raised you so you can be free"
He vowed one day to find his father
Not sure how, not sure when
But when he did he'd make quite certain
That he'd never hurt a woman again
He's day "trust in me trust in me
This is the way that it'll be
Trust me daddy, trust in me
I'll make it so you can be free"
She never knew that he heard the tears in the night
She never knew he thought he could make it alright
Her only son planning to take the life
Of the man who promised to make her his wife
Country boy takes a chance in the city
Finds his father propped up at the bar
Pathetic wretch, he feels no pity
For the man he drags to the car
He say "look at me, look at me
Am I the son you thought I'd be?
Look at me damn it, look at me"
But he knows that those blank eyes don't see
So he says "trust in me, trust in me
This is the way that it's going to be
Trust me daddy, trust in me"
And with his finger on the trigger, and a shake of his head
He sets him free.

Happy Birthday, Jim |
Happy Birthday, Jim...This sounds pretty good. I like the Acoustic...Your vocals are up in the mix really well. Very understandable. I think this is the first time I have seen you post your lyrics to a song. I think it's a good idea to do so. Nice to be able to follow the song along. Puts the listener more in touch.
What or who is this song in reference to? Seems to be a story line. Which makes the song better. I think a song should have a story line. Something realistic about life or something that one has experienced. Of course there are exceptions. I've listened to this about 6-7 times now, as I have been commenting. Nice work, Jim ... I always like listening to your songs
Nice rating
