My wife said I love you but I`m not in love with you,right before I left her.I was mad ,but at the same time couldn`t believe she said something that dumb,and to her it made perfect sense

As to the question on your mind .... this is where some languages can be lacking.
In Dutch one can say Ik hou van jou - I love you (in a deep lasting way) or Ik ben verlieft op iemand - in love with someone (that mad butterfly state).
So yea your ex was expressing something she new made sense but her language had no other words to use !
