Mist |

Another Acoustic Fields song - this one is called Mist. Recorded circa 1995. It's not a religious tune, although I suppose it could be interpreted as that. It was actually written to a girl though. Total love song.
Well I stare out of the window of life's room
and I watch the souls fly free
I'm standing in the shadow of who I am
and I'm walking through the light of who I'll be
My questions are answered and problems are solved
I'm doing everything I can to prevent the building of the walls
I've seen a place in time, where time does not exist
and heaven is here beside me
and my love rolls with the mist
is it something that I missed
I want to call out loud your name
but you take my breath away
It seems forever, it seems forever I've searched
you for a place, my heart can stay
And you know there are few
That love has touched so true
I've given you my soul
And that's all that I can do
the rest is up to you.
I want to call out loud your name
but you take my breath away
Well I stare out of the window of life's room
and I watch the souls fly free
I'm standing in the shadow of who I am
and I'm walking through the light of who I'll be

@ Uli - thanks!
@ Denis - I agree with you on the harmony and the shortening issue if it were to go to radio. Thanks for your honest feedback!

Reviewing as I listen....
Hey this sounds good! I think it could be remixed/recorded though. Needs some (Lots of!) panning, and the snare sounds a bit 80's for me :P
Sounds like a little bass mishit on another string in the first few bars in the intro too.
The entire mix sounds a bit too bright and harsh too in my opinion.
Musically its pretty nice. I can imagine the candles and the swaying at the gig...
Nice song

Hey ArpKnight - thanks for taking the time to listen and your feedback on it. Totally valid - this song was mixed around 1995 and we really didn't know what we were doing so there are all sorts of issues!
I do love the song though - idea and lyric wise.
Peace man!
