Hypocrites Sell Salv
*

This song is not in a battle

Hypocrites Sell Salvation (Good Tithings)

I got arrested today
The cops came at seven
I got caught sellin
Real estate in heaven

Dreams don’t come free
But I sold them damn cheap
And the poor lined up in droves
To pad my churches rows
With their hearts in my hand
They worshipped Gods holy land
They cried out their praise
With their stubs of pay

I’d grab the bible
And cry out to the sky
Some random verse
Then I’d teach them not to curse
Oh wait
I just did
In the second verse
Some think I’m full of shit
But I’m… just a hypocrite

It’s like L. Ron Hubbard once said
"Writing for a penny a word is ridiculous
If a man really wants to make a million dollars
The best way would be to start his own religion"

Best song so far
Hey, i have you guys a 80%, because i enjoyed your song that much, its prolly mainly because of my feelings concerning organized religion, lol.

Truly good.

at first i was worried, but you guys totally kicked ass on, you didn't make professional because the guitar sounded slightly outta whack.

the notes were good, just a little shrill or sharp or something.

KEEP IT UP!

lyrics and melodi
I love the lyrics, they are very thought out. good work!
In my opinion you should put a little more focus on the melodi for the lyrics.
There's no reason why the melodi shouldn't be just as good, spontanius and original as the lyrics, if you know what I mean.

UnFitForDuty Thanks for the listen and your comments. We recorded this album over two weeks in December when our Vocalist/guitarist returned from Med School. In hindsight, upon finishing the album we all were ready to go back in and redo it. They say the first time is the hardest, then it gets easier. The right panned 2nd guitar is indeed shrill at parts and I wish we could have re-recorded that part and remixed it. We figure we will make up for the errors on our 2nd album by doing it right. Hopefully you can come see us at a show and see how the song should really sound. Check out some of our other songs, some of the others turned out more professional.

groovesearcher Thanks for listening in. We change things up in the shows sometimes. Hopefully we can find that happy medium with the melody.

BasketCase Thank you. Maybe one day people will realize just how F'cked up Scientology is and stop listening to moron celebrities who have no idea what they are talking about. If I had ten minutes with Tom Cruise I could destroy his whole world. He's a sucker, and doesn't even know it.
