Welcome To, Dead Mans Lake
*

This song is not in a battle

I have been working on cutting a CD. I'm doing all of the EQ, editing, etc...Any comments on how to improve the quality of the song is appreciated..

"Welcome To, Dead mans Lake"

Verse 1
Well, I know your hiding tear drops
you tell me that your doing fine
all the things we have been doing
is causing our life's to be ruined
we run and we run
we end up right back to the
same place
the sign on the hi-way says
next turn
welcome to
Dead Mans Lake

Verse 2
I looked in the mirror
there's a face I've never seen before
he looks right at home
and he tells me
I'm behind in the score
and then he looks
at me and smiles
he says dead men don't
leave a trace
the sign on the hi-way says
next turn
welcome to
Dead Mans Lake

Chorus:
baby cry
baby cry
cry for the bad,
bad man
you can cry
you can cry
cry for the bad
bad man
baby cry
baby cry
cry for the bad, bad man
to his legacy and his songs
at dead mans lake

Verse 3
now there's a
Monkey on my shoulder
he challenges my
wisdom and my faith
hes got his hands
deep in my pockets
hes looking for more then
pennies and change
and then he looks
at me and smiles
he said dead men
don't leave a trace
the sign on the hi-way
says
next turn
Ralphie boy
your at
Dead Mans Lake

Chorus:
baby cry
baby cry
cry for the bad, bad man
you can cry
you can cry
for the bad, bad man
baby cry
baby cry
cry for the bad, bad man
lay his soul to rest

Bridge::
instrumental

Verse 4
now all the things we've been doing
is causing our life's to be ruined
the Monkey on my shoulder
he challenges my
wisdom and my faith
every time we run
we end up
right back in the same place
the sign on the hi-way says
Ralphie boy
we are so glad you could make
it to
Dead Mans Lake

Chorus:
baby cry
baby cry
cry for the bad,
bad man
you can cry
you can cry
for the bad, bad
man
baby cry
baby cry
Ralphie boy
we are so glad you could make it
welcome to
Dead Mans Lake
Ralphie boy
we see you made it
welcome to
Dead Mans Lake

If you want to cut a CD the easiest option would go to a studio.
If you haven't got the cash then you'll need some reasonable equipment/software, if you find it hard to get to grips with recording, why not invite a friend over to take you through it step-by-step.

OR

I'll help you.

First off I need to know your complete set-up, PM me.

A little simple in the recording, could use some bass and more layers.  Stay out of the Studio. I use a Lexicon Omega interface, Pro Tracks Software and a decent laptop to record my stuff and get good results.  For drums I'll either use my drum set recorded with mics or a cd with pre recorded drum loops. As many tracks and layers as I want and I'm not worried about spending too much on Studio time. For the The whole set up was less than a few hours studio time and I still have the equipment forever.

Thanks Skunk...I was thinking of adding more instruments/layers to this . You do get a good sound from your recordings...I just downloaded a different audio program...so I'm going to be working with it...Maybe things will turn out a little better..Thanks again

First of all, let me say that I love the song. Great Job.
Secondly, try this - double the guitar track. Record it once, pan it to the left. then record it again and pan it to the right. Do the same for the vocals. Put the bass right down the middle. And remember, when messing with the EQ, don't boost the sounds that you like - remove the frequencies that you don't like. You will find that every instrument has a an unneeded frequency, when you remove all of them, your sound will be so much more clear. At that point, you can boost some of the EQ to make certain sounds "pop".
