Missing You |
I re-mixed the song with some advice from Marino! *Good call buddy and thnx for the tips! This is dedicated to my brother Bill. He was the lead singer in our band..... That's his voice on "VooDoo Man. Man, could he belt em out.... * the tone of his voice always reminded me of Jim Morrison, but better. I Hope you enjoy this ..... * sounds alot fuller , I think. Any comments are welcomed as always!
The lyrics are meant to be only one verse,,,,, I felt that's all that had to be said.

Good FX on the vocal track and a great remix. Yep, Marino knows how to spice up a song. Congrats to you both.
But the solo guitar could be more in the front.
All in all a VERY nice track, good job

The double vocals give it a nice effect...Still feel like there's some frequencies getting lost..Take for example how much clearer your voice is when on your talking part..Thats kinda what you might want to achieve for the singing...Sounds like your moving the vox to out of phase..I think maybe decrease the frontal phase to were it sits a bit more in a 3rd dimensional center.I like the end last bong.........Thats a nice resolve...
Thnks Marino my friend........ *what I did was I re-recorded the vocals totally, as you can tell I'm sure..... and the way I sang them... well I did my best to whisper the singing part, instead of belting them out,,,, which in my heart I felt I should...... but for sound sake it doesn't do a thing to change the point getting across. Well then I added a very simple "stereo delay" ,,,, and just to make sure it wasn't overload,,, I decreased the milliseconds .. dramatically as well as the intensity of the delay.... Now this may be hard to believe,,,, but during the speaking part.... I did speak without singing...... very softly,,, but was right up close to the mic... I also added the exact same effect as the singing vocals...... *sounds very strange the way I got two totally different sounds vocally,,,, but produced the exact same way, I just recorded them in a different manner. I didn't even adjust the EQ..... that's what blew me away when I first listened back on it..... weird huh? The magic of mixing will always remain a mystery to even the most experienced to some extent, I suppose. As far as the guitar is concerned..... I eq'd it down with a very slight simple mid cut and panned it ever so slightly to the right and then I lowered the volume. Now when the first lead comes in it is a hair below the keys volume, because it is meant as a filler and really not a lead...... Now during the main lead I lowered that one as well..... but only to the same volume as the keys.... again remaining mostly as a filler sound and I didn't want to over shadow the song's overall feeling with a solo type lead... *hope that makes sense.... *When I listen back to it.... I can clearly hear the lead and it does compliment now instead of sticking out as a solo and that's what I wanted...... I know you think the tone should have been a cleaner guitar and I agree with you,,,,,, but what I liked what the notes I used, so it was the lesser of two evils I guess is what I'm trying to say. Thanks so much for your input, both of you...! *very much appreciated as usual *S

hmmm... the double vox panned to the sides is distracting to my ear... ahh comes back center i see... The whole talking over a track thing never really did it for me... I understand this has emotive content.. but it always gives me cheesy chills... having said that... the music is beautiful! The wailer in the background at @ 1:54 has that classic Scorpions vibe circa 1981... which is cool I suppose... Would've liked to hear something more modern over that lovely music... This is a nice piece... some of the sonic decisions gave it a dated feel to me... imho.. which isn't necessarily bad...
