This song is not in a battle

Hey guys

A new song, new style, first time I've tried to use proper harmonies - hope you like and enjoy it!

LYRICS

Lyrics

Verse 1

So what if I like her?
So what if she makes me smile?
So what about all the things
That we said we were to borrow?

I've got to reconsider never change my mind
To the fact that I may comprimise
I can't figure out
And I'm breaking my back to see

Chorus

I hear voices but they're all wrong
And the choices are leading me on
I've gotta take some time to think
I can't figure out
I can't understand why
These feelings I feel are so real and
She's gotta believe me
When I say that
I'll be there
She's making me insane

Verse 2

I wanted to hold her hand
And kiss her on the cheek sometimes
But I can't reflect
These feelings remain to be

I've got to reconsider never change my mind
To the fact that I may comprimise
I can't figure out
And I'm breaking my back to see

Chorus

I hear voices but they're all wrong
And the choices are leading me on
I've gotta take some time to think
I can't figure out
I can't understand why
These feelings I feel are so real and
She's gotta believe me
When I say that
I'll be there
She's making me insane

Bridge

Chorus

I hear voices but they're all wrong
And the choices are leading me on
I've gotta take some time to think
I can't figure out
I can't understand why
These feelings I feel are so real and
She's gotta believe me
When I say that
I'll be there
She's making me insane

Got a summery feel to it, nice.

I like this style, it suits your voice, the acoustic guitar in particular mix well with your voice tone.  Why did you se a pitch corrector.

Enjoyed it

Thanks for the comments guys!

Used the pitch correcter because I thought my vocals were a bit out and I quite like the effect of it! .

Like the song a lot.  Nicely put together.
Don't like the pitch correction on the main vox, I think it detracts from the natural timbre of your voice.  But I do like it on the harmony, as it can provide a good contrast.
Playing all good.  Construction good.
Good stuff.

Reminds me of the newer radio music, kinda modern disney music..Not a bad thing they have some great music writers so its actually a complement...Kill the auto tune until 217 and just do one pass with it and that should be enough to give the listener a hook to look forward to every time they listen to the song... I would really recommend you keep working on this tracks production, this could give you a very sellable track. Needs more bass and a tighter production. You should be very proud of this song,it has the potential to be a hit for younger kids but a hit none the less...

Yes...what Marino said. Its got a good pop sound. Its up to you how far you go with it, and to what degree.

Wow thanks guys! Amazing comments!

I agree that the disney songwriters are great! I somehow managed to watch some of high school musical 2 at easter and I have to say I was impressed with the songwriting! It's not really what I'd listen to, but it's just good, solid stuff that appeals to the younger generation (even younger than me lol I'm still only 18).

Any ideas how I can improve the production? I'd really love to do that but I don't know what to do! At the moment the instruments are guitar, drums, piano, cello, would you suggest adding an electric bass? I think I'll probably need to re-record the vocals if I was to change things because without the auto tune I was annoyed at my vocals because they sounded out of tune in places!

Really grateful for the reviews guys! Thanks!

Bass is a must in order to give the song a nice tight bottom end that ties in with the drums...I would find a song similar to what this sounds like as far as production and then I would try and see what I can do to get it as close as possible to the general sound...Like were are the instruments panned to how loud is the guitar and bass..Where do the vocals sit and so on..

If you really want to redo it properly,Ill give you a hand but youll have to wait till summer so I can free up a week to work with you...You'll have to remind me ..It all depends were we are with the video collab so keep that in mind..But I can show you what I do more or less adjusted to what gear you have and we will take it from there...Remind me by the first week of july..

Hey guys would you put this song in the category of Pop or Rock/Indie?

It's going into the uksc but I'm not sure which category to put it in :S

Here's the descriptions from their website:

Pop
Chart style popular music that could also include some slower pop ballads as well as more obvious up-tempo pop songs. This is the most commercial of all the categories and is for songs with mass (often younger) audience appeal - think X-Factor, Pop Idol, American Idol.

Rock/Indie
All types and styles of rock music and alternative and indie music. Contestants in this category include bands as well as solo performers and songwriters. Recordings can be of any type: eg studio, bedroom, garage or live.

I'm leaning towards Rock/Indie but I'd still like some advice from you guys .
