Second Best to You

This song is not in a battle

Another acoustic rock ish type song like "Don't Come Home".

I quite like it.

Sibelius was used for the composing, followed by Audacity which was used to record and mix vocals.

Verse 1
Maybe I need some time
Some time to think about
The words you said about me
The words that you had thought about

And now infact
I wish that you were near
Infact
I wish that you were here
Why can't you live
And let me be me

Pre-Chorus

I'll never change for anyone
I'll never give up on what I lost

Chorus

I think you're taking this too far
And I'm bleeding fast into an open jar
And I can't
See straight

Give me a minute to change your mind
Give me half an hour to change your life
And I'll always be
Always be
Second best to you

Verse 2

Times are changing in my head I know it's true
That I can never really be the one for you
But why must you
Lead me on
Lead me on

I get your game but I won't let you play me
I sat down and that's the best for you and me
I got you good guess you understand me
I've never felt so alive

Pre-Chorus

I'll never change for anyone
I'll never give up on what I lost

Chorus

I think you're taking this too far
And I'm bleeding fast into an open jar
And I can't
See straight

Give me a minute to change your mind
Give me half an hour to change your life
And I'll always be
Always be
Second best to you

Guitar Solo

Chorus

I think you're taking this too far
And I'm bleeding fast into an open jar
And I can't
See straight

Give me a minute to change your mind
Give me half an hour to change your life
And I'll always be
Always be
Second best to you

The song is good.. like the lyrics, and the construction is spot on for me.
Something sounds too digital though - the instruments don't have a real sound or feel to them.  And yes that cymbal should be seriously limited in its use.
Recording quality could be much improved - your recording technique stands out here, with vocals having a different sound quality to the other instrumental sounds.

That said, in terms of the song itself, like I said at the start it's a good song.  I like the use of silences to add dynamics.  I think this could be excellent with a better recording.
