Cymraeg - Mynydd Mwyn
*
This is the placeholder for a new MP3 player

This song is not in a battle

Mynydd Mwyn is the second of three songs I was payed by the BBC to record, many many moons ago
They were recorded in my old English teachers converted garage , the band : Guppy on guitar, Ian on bass, Pete on keyboard and I sang. I also wrote the lyrics. O! and a guest apperance by Guppys mate Jim on the mandolin.
There songs were played on the radio, once, and that was it I think!

It's about walking over a mountain.....

hey mr kings
Just love the mandolin , instrumentation  and playfulness of Cymraeg - Mynydd Mwyn.

Very sweet arrangement and great overall ambience, gentle and lilting melody ...to my ears kinda nostalgic
to an Aussie in New Holland lol.

Pity it only got one airing on radio ,  your vox is reminisant of Ian Anderson Jethro Tull.
Thanks 4 posting
rate high.
Recorded in a garage and a band???
Does Apple know about this???

Spirit of the mountain
My mothers wings
My love for seeing
My love for doing
My love for the home
Love has woven

From the earth came your life
Into the earth it will return
While your life lives
Give your life to the living
And no one will be foolish

From this mountain it shows what being is
From this mountain it shows what God is

Wholly ghost
I am looking for your song
In the wind, across the earth
Along my fathers roads
I can feel it so clearly

Walking across the mountain
With my walking stick in hand
I say to the playful birds
Within the spirit it will come

And the wind lifts
And the trees turn
In my place the feeling me puts

It is here for anyone to do
It is here for everyone to say
It is here
For all, for all
To fly the mountain on the wings of heaven.

howzat !

Hey, Another very nice track. It is very reminiscent of Zeppelin (for me)... Big influence? enjoyed listening... Think I'll download these, I like them... Got any more of these hidden away?

Cheers

Love how this is put together..Yes I hear the tull but not really on the voice I think more because of the mandolin and pads..I hear your style coming through loud and clear..I can hear why the Zep..but if you really pay attention it is actually a sound you have that is very much yours.!!!Man I wish there were more than 3...

A solid piece of music!  As usual, digging your vocals big time!  Yeah, gotta a Led ring to it but still a great original piece!  Good Show!  Gonna have to get around to listening to the others now...

Cheers guys, one and all, glad you enjoyed it.

THREE! It's the magic number !

I wish, I wish, I wish I could wish
But I cant
All I can do is do.
And if I keep on doing what I do
It will all end up being done.

Any body up for a challenge ?
Make a Zeppelin Cover Collab and I'll REALLY make an effort to sound like Robert Plant.

SirB : Asking whether Led Zeppelin are an influence is like asking if the Greeks influenced Mathematics.
I've never tried to sound like Zeppelin but yes I've played with lyrical ideas that I've picked up on listening to them just as a guitarist could play with something that might resemble a Jimmy riff!
But then looking at it that way I've been influenced by everything I've ever Seen, Heard, Thought and Felt.

And another good one.
Not such a dynamic vocal delivery on this one - it's sung excellently, jut missing some emotion to my ears.
I like the overall construction of the song.
What ever you say, I hear a very Robert Plant like vocal in there at times (very much enhanced by the delay used).
Good stuff.

oh how I love the mandolin dancing around your Welsh and your special voice on this...magical...feels like I'm galloping a grey dapple just cresting over an emerald green hill, seeing a rolling emerald ocean of hills blend into a blue sky on the horizon...you definitely transported me...thank you...love it!
