It’s in the battle 2008-06

the music industry!

blank page in front of me i dont know what to say,
so i tried to sit back and let the radio play,
but the media left me uninspired,
you can consider this me retiring,
though i guess you couldnt really call this a career,
cause i make cash like vegans eat deer,
but if music’s about money i'm no winner,
cause i'm so broke i bleed kraft dinner,
but industy people have different beliefs,
cause they write songs now about diamonds on their teeth
and that ain't be natural but i am not a destist
but these days artists write lyrics like they're parenthesis
All they think about about is if their hair’s done up nice,
and make sure they dont run out of words to rhyme with ice,
I shoulda called myself ‘dread boi’ and named this ‘spank that’,
And got a record deal with some dance on a website
cause they're like "tokyo throwdown?! maaan who's that guy?"
all of a sudden it's like psshh time flies,
and people are cryin' "I broke my knees!!"
and i'm like "yeahh, n00b you was pwnd by my beat."
it's really quite simple just some kicks and hi hat,
scratch that i dont know anybody who can match that
what's the problem, i'm cool like an ice cap,
and my rhymes are usually smart, but just gimme this one track?

it's the bitterness that really makes music sweet,
till it rattles your bones and rots your teeth,
now the undead dance 'till they fill the streets
and the blood drips down' till it kills the beat
and they walk like zombies one by one,
like clockwork to the setting sun,
there's no way out once you're alone,
you can't conceal the scent of bones

second verse, eyes wide open, case closed,
the words float onto the paper like they're clouds of smoke,
And homie i'm so young its like im miley cyrus,
but my flows so sick it needs an antivirus,
cause i'mma infect the world call me the umbrella company,
but mila jovovich wont even try to stop me,
cause these days people might as well be zombies,
tapeworms made with the radio frequencies,
And take turns listening like spreading disease,
but the tapeworm stops when it listens to me,
i am the arbidol equivalent of the music industry,
curing this world from it's resident evil,
and it paints a pretty picture when their eyes roll back,
to the endless intricities of mindless rap,
but i don't think i'll let it end like that,
it's like i'm George A Romero 808s and a hand claps

I'm really liking your stuff, man. Some conscious shit right here, and you're absolutely right with everything you've said about mainstream hip-hop. Nice beat too.

I think you've got it cut out to be an underground artist. With some better production and studio work, this could be great.

Still reminding me a lot of Jedi Mind Tricks and Vinnie Paz.

So yeah, good stuff. Artists like Atmosphere, Immortal Technique, Del, The Roots and Sage Francis are saving hip-hop as we know it.

OMG!  This is over the wall!  There is nothing like some lyrics to set off a good beat!  Very tasty! Very pro production! minor things with the mix (all taste based).  This is just killer!

Well good shit, lovin the lyrics, and the chorus melody is catchy as, something bugging me about the vocal production tho... sounds like you layered it with like 2/3 takes, helps make it sound wider but your losing definition in the the words cause they gonna be a few ms off with each other, same thing sometimes happens with layering kicks cause of their different attacks, but yea other than that top notch stuff

Well i'm liking this quite a lot.  Lyrics are really good as it's been already noticed. My problem is that it sounds a bit "crowded", i think it needs some better use of silence just to make the music stronger.  Maybe some instrumental bridge or something?

AWESOME
WHOA!!!! This is GREAT! Lyrics are so solid and well phrased. You're talented man. I love the groove of the song. I do a bit of DJing and if you'd be down with it, I'd totally play this. Really well done
