Put Some Money In The Jukebox
*

This song is not in a battle

Let me know what you all think. I redid the mix and I added more onto the ending with some Guitar(s)

"Put Some Money In The Jukebox"

It's the last call on the Stereo
last call to hear some old time classic Rock n Roll
Jimi has Haze in his eyes
Janis is still singing
but she's not alive
sitting on the dock of the bay
wasting in the Jersey heat
put some money in the Jukebox before last call
To play the memories
we grew up with
that we would sing to and play
put some money in the Jukebox
John & George
are knocking on heavens door
Ronnie is Free As A Bird
He has piece of mind
Marvin Gaye told me
Through The Grapevine
John Denver took one last fly
so he could sing with Lucy In The Sky
put some money in the Jukebox before last call
To play the memories
we grew up with
that we would sing to and play
put some money in the Jukebox
before last call
It's the last call on the Stereo
put some money in the Jukebox
before the Bar room closes
so we can sing to and play
the memories
we grew up with
put some money in the Jukebox
to hear some old time classic Rock n Roll
It's the last call
before the Bar room closes
put some money in the Jukebox
before last Call

I really like the lyrics , they read more like a poem though. An ode to Rock!
Your vocal could do with a little volume. Nice soulful feel to the guitar.

Nice tune...I remember hearing this before....Some work on the vocals overdub to tighten it up a bit would be my first suggestion. The mix has some area where I hear a bit of distortion. The separation is good thought from the guitar and voice..Great lyrics!

I'm listening to this again... Your vocals and style sound just Johnny Dowd!
I heard the guy was a trucker most of his life and than started doing something about
his music when he was closer to 50!  Guys like him are always an inspiration to me...

He's a little country, but cannot be caterogized...

Are you doing both the vocals?

Good lyrics, and decent bit of singing and playing on this one Flyer...
As far as the recording is concerned, it's still very quiet - compression and a bit of normalizing would work on the individual tracks, then normalize the whole mix-down (some zero it, I always leave a bit of head room and go to about -1dB
As per Marino's suggestion, I think the vocal overdubbing could be tightened up a fair bit.  Blue has pulled me up over my sloppy vocals; you seem to have picked up the same habit!  Perhaps add a little variety in some of the vocal lines too, that would give it an extra dimension.
I liked the song though - it's a good acoustic club number.
Well done Flyer

Jim, I did rework this one and did what you suggested along with others. I compressed the vocals. Its sounding a lot better. Maybe I'll post it sometime later on..
