Yellow Skied Town
*

This song is not in a battle

This song was written and recorded in one very cold evening, but it carries the brightest minds that were trying to get out for few years now. It is just a demo, maybe someday I'll record a normal version.
Recorded with a laptop, Audio Technica ATR 25 stereo condenser mic and Iriver mp3 player (as a preamp).

Yellow Skied Town

upon my town shines the yellow sky
for the first time I really opened my eyes
and saw the crowds of people standing in a way
they were unhappy but wanted there to stay

The streets I walk every single day
are always empty because no-one comes my way
and if someone says that life means only war
I know my eyes saw a little more

guess there's nothing new in this yellow skied town
and no-one will show me the life I don't know
outside the walls surrounding my thoughts
there's nothing new

when i was sad to face the death
that come ant tuck one my beloved man
my eyes were tearing and minds just going on
I sat silent and felt so bright in my heart

the road ahead was long and it was getting dark
I wasn't scared - I saw the shining stars above
I knew the music forever be my mate
i felt it knows me - my sadness love and hate

...I like it a lot! I see that yellow skied town in my mind as I listen the song. I think that it works very well as an acoustic, kind of a stripped version. Could be playing in some good indie film!

And I really love the chorus when the background vocals really come along! Yeah, I love it!
And the vocals sound good through the song.

There's some weird grammar things that I'd look at once more. But I can't really say, because English is not my native language. So...

Anyway. Great!

Thanks,
I agree that lyrics might be grammatically incorrect in some places, but I tried my best (English is not my native language too).
I also thing that vocal parts should be more varied and backvocals in chorus are bit monotonic

this is very good. no criticisms really. the perforemance is great, the song suits the simple acoustic and vox. and the recording quility is pretty damn good too (surprising to me because you used an mp3 player as a preamp... i didn't even know that was possible)

Anyway, very nice song
