It’s in the battle 2008-01

An instrumental, and as usual, I did the guitars and bass, drums are machine.
The Occidental is a surly downtown bar in downtown Winnipeg, Manitoba(my old home town).
I've actually never been in it, but probably wouldn't be here if I had!
I just thought this tune was a bit descriptive of the place, and a cool title.

Gk

Left me me with Satriani in mind.  Like the rhythm.  Solo seems to be panned like 75% to the right or it's clearer somehow in the right-side.  Could you verify this just to make sure it's not my headphone speaker.  Overall, it jams.

I love the layering of guitars. Do you want people to focus on the drums? You might want to just trim them a hair or do a few beat changes. But I wish I could play guitar like that man.

GuitarKen.....

Dude....one of the first riffs that I heard on BandAMP was "Calling Card". I dug it so much that I played it on my sound system here at the house while my wife started serving dinner to me and the kids! My kids love music and that tune as well. This instrumental is right up there with all of the other kick-ass tunes you have dishing out. I also wanted to see how we can get together and colab on something? Let me know.........as far as this review bro......a Vai/Satriani/Malmstein kinda mix together that is pretty cool. A++++

Look forward to your reply!

Thanks for the good response! I think you've all been very kind, to quote Ozzy Osbourne! Can we collab? To be honest, I have no idea how. I have kids, Gymnastics, kid's hockey, my hockey, etc...so I have no time. I don't know how I do what I do! Anyway, if you have any suggestions, bring'em on.

Big Daddy, I really appreciate your comments. Calling Card was the first thing I did on the Boss recorder, and it was basically a first take. My buddy/singer Chris did an excellent job of the lyrics/vocals. The guitar solo was the first take! Ragged, but fitting, so I didn't replace it. I'm available to fly all expenses paid to Germany or worldwide for any guitar solos, song ideas etc, just so you know!

Thanks,

Ken
