This song is not in a battle

dealing with my angst over college....

Lyrics:
Time flys faster when you’re older
Time seems like nothing to me
Seems like yesterday I was younger
When today was something I couldn’t see
And I think I found my niche today
I see the future in front of me
somehow I feel I didn’t try hard enough
Yet somehow I’m feeling free

What ever happened to high school?
What ever happened to me?

And just what happened to yesterday?
And what’s with this responsibility?

I know what it is all about now
I  feel  I know what they wanted me to see
I know just why I worked so hard now
I know what they wanted me to be

What ever happened to high school?
What ever happened to me?

And just what happened to yesterday?
And what’s with this responsibility?

Wow man your voice cuts trough nicely in the mix.But it seems different in sound compared to the music. Some parts in the vox sound a bit off too.In general a track with great potential for a awesome song.I would try too work the eq on the music to match up to the vox.Great lyrics by the way.
Good marks!

this song has great possibilities....it has a strong emotional element to it (as you detail some of the revelations of maturing). There is a dramatic effect in the unaffected, youthful voice expressing angst over a variably soft, then grinding rock theme. Song construction seems quite skillful to me. This has an "R.E.M." quality to me...

DUDE!  Love the potential in this track!  I agree with Marino.  Something is wrong with the vocal.  It stands WAY OUT from the rest of the music.  Its a mix issue to be sure.  Wouldnt mind hearing a vocal sung an octave down and layered with the original.  The music is great and has an intangible 'epic' feel to it.  Fix the vocal and this is a WINNER!

This doesn't sound much differnt from "I can not have you" which is one of my favorites and is on my playlist. Your voice is hypnotic it really works for you. Your guitarist so so laid back and the percussion seems to have a soul. Its rare for me to really hear a beat and go "I wish I had this working for me" but yea. I like the whole thing. I like the multi vocals a bit in the chorus.

Stuff like this makes me want to learn to sing properly and get a good mic.
