My Last Night At McMahon's
*

This song is not in a battle

This is a Flyer ,Paganscradle and toastedgoat collab
Flyer wrote the song , sang the lead vocals and played the acoustic guitar (song)
Paganscradle (great harmonies)
toastedgoat  lead and bass guitar
Edit:The outro solo was a mini tribute to Michael Shenker copped some of his riffs..
First Version:
http://forum.bandamp.com/Audio_Review/5526.html

I am uploading this because Ralph's  version was having some problems (distorted) so he thought maybe I should try to upload it.

Copied from first upload:

Thanks so much Paganscradle for adding your harmony to this song...your fantastic...and a real pleasure to work with

We hope you all like this...the recording quality isnt the best...I don't line into the comp with the acoustic...I need to get a pick up for that so I can go into the soundcard on my computer...will do this week

Thanks for stopping in for a listen

" My Last Night At McMahon's "

Verse 1
There is a place in Baltimore a little town called Dundalk
we would hang out at McMahons
to have a drink
and try out our luck
we were all going to be Rock n Roll stars
everyone that came in there could play a mean Guitar
and drove a beat up old car

Verse 2
It was 1973 I was only 17
not to young to be carrying a  full Jacket M16
the war was suppose to be over
Danny came home in a one horse escort
in his dress Blue's without any shoes
only half a man
Thank you Uncle Sam

Chorus
if your in the neighborhood
come on into McMahon's
sit down with me
have a beer
shake my hand
this is my last night
in town

Verse 3
many a night Helen and I
thought we had a plan
then one night she started to cry
and we both knew why
she didn't want to lose her man
to the devils plan
but I had to take a stand
I had to take a stand

chorus
so if your in the neighborhood
come on into McMahon's
sit down with me
have a beer
shake my hand
this is my last night
in town

leads

to Bridge

Verse 4
Now it's been so long ago
But it's the place that I remember as home
all the Friday nights and the Saturday jams
I miss it at McMahons
don't ask me how I survived
I guess God had a better plan

Chorus (end)
so if your in the neighborhood
come on into McMahon's
sit down with me
have a beer
shake my hand
this is my last night
at McMahon's

thought i would comment on this one.. I really appreciate that you asked me to play on this song.. This song has some powerful lyrics and melody..  Paganscradle did a fantastic job on the harmonies.. I think Flyer did a great job in the writing and playing on this..  Flyer you have come so far in your music, just tremendous growth.
At first I thought the lead was a little over the top for this song but  ..I was trying to do a mini tribute to MSG from the song Nightmares.. which has a beautiful outro solo ..mine kinda pales in comparison but i did cop a few of the riffs from that song.

I had lots of fun with this song and enjoyed it playing on it
would like to do some more with flyer and paganscradle

I just wonder why the rhythm guitar sounds like that? Sounds like it had a huge amount of chorus.
If you can fix it the song would sound pretty cool for me.

It is better than I have ever done myself so I can't say it's bad. So all say it was pretty good to me.
I am working on a song. I'm new sortof so I can't really say that I'm good at doing this.
