You Left me Your Picture |
Returned home after several weeks of college touring on the east coast, and I can get back to writing music.
This is a song that was borne out of missing my girlfriend while I was away. The lyrics turned into a slightly different meaning though, but the spirit is there. I felt quite good about this song until I realized the key is about a fourth too high for my singing, but I did my best.
Lyrics:
I remember when you left me
Carrying that big black suitcase
And I never thought
I never thought
I never thought
I’d miss you
No
But as it turns out
I miss you more than ever
All alone on a Sunday morning
Trying hard not to think about you
But I can’t
And I can’t
Cause I’m looking at your picture
And as it turns out
I miss you more than ever
Yeah
Why the hell did you leave me your picture
The one that’s sitting on my bedside table
The one that reminds me of you
The one reminding me of myself
Everything makes me think about you
From chairs to the pencil on the floor
I don’t care
I don’t care
I don’t care
Anymore
And as it turns out
I’m still staring at your picture
And I don’t remember why you left
Was it the money? I need to get it off my chest
You don’t care
You don’t’ care
You don’t care
But I do
And as it turns out
I’m still staring at your picture
Why the hell did you leave me your picture
The one that’s sitting on my bedside table
The one that reminds me of you
It’s staring back at me with long dark hair
Why the hell did you have to leave it there
It reminds me of myself
And I’m hoping that you’ll call me
Even though I know it is a lost cause
And I stare
And I stare
And I stare
At your picture
And it turns out
I don’t even have a phone

Nice and clear recording. This is one I can tell you worked the mix differently.Love the chorus the guitar tone is great on this song. The chorus is awesome.Your voice came across very nice and crisp!!!!The fullness in the chorus is great!!!!Should punch in that missed note on 3:02 to make it perfect, although I still think is quite there!
