Better?

I remember this one or at least it sounds familiar.Nice style and great song witting skills.I find the vocals a bit quiet and a bit flat.Then the level jumps.maybe if you sang a bit louder you could drop the mic level and lessen the hiss.Anyway great potential in this track!!Your guitar rhythm is solid !!!

Maybe its the compression, but I'm listening at 3/4 volume with good monitors and theres no hiss, same thing on awsome monitor headphones. I'll check the mp3 compression later. And thanks!

I cant hear any hiss either? Although Marino has probably got the best ears on this site. there is however a very slight hum as apposed to a hiss, it is hardley noticeable, I dont find it off puting at all.

Nice rhthm playing as Marino said. I would however suggest you try playing a little softer, it will bring out the harmonics of the guitar better. What type of mic are you using for the vox? Mic's have so much diversity, if you have more than one you may want to try them out to see which ones suit you vox better. The one your using is OK, but it's nice to find one that brings out all the full dynamics in your voice, you have a good voice.

AKG 100, cheapest decent one I could find. Bought it discounted at $65. Beats the hell out of any dynamic mic I've used for recording guitar, doesn't do so well for vocals. I think I may borrow my friend's beta58 and her preamp. And thanks

Agreeing with Marino there on the guitar playing - and its a nice sound as well.  Can't say i can really pick up the hiss either...Marino is a bit of a legend and picking that up though
The vocals have definatley improved from a previous tune of yours I remember listening to - so whatever you've changed keep working on it!  It's helping!

very nice , like the guitar tone a lot and the chord progression is very nice.. good vocals overall .. just need to use a little better mic technic some of the levels jump (possibly need compressor)  there is a slight hiss that kicks in with the vocals ...are you using a auto gate of some kind ? ... there seems to be some level changes in the vocal track as well..  as I said overall  I think it's real good just some minor issues.... and none with the actual song, more just recording production .

No I just usually cut out accidental noises in singing like loud breaths, now I can hear the hiss but only when I'm really looking for it. Is it actually that detrimental to the feel of song to you guys, because I can barely notice it.

no It's not that bad really ... overall it's real good  I have hiss and stuff in my songs and chair squeaks mouse clicks  cat meowing in the other room lol  so yours is actually pretty good.

Nice pop rock tune. Overall well written and structured. Vocals coul use a bump up in the mix. the guitar sounds wonderful. Like emntioned above you went flat at a couple small parts but its easilly forgivable.
