Standing on a riverbank

This song is not in a battle

Very Russian.  Composed in the summer of '69 on Volga river.  Recorded for the first time now. One never knows. Enjoy.

Hello Bratello.
As always excellent studio-quality recording. I actually found myself listening to this tune with immense pleasure - it's simple (but in no way to simple or primitive whatsoever), very melodic, and grabs you by the heart when you listen to it. I hope one day we can get together and have a coffee or a pint in a nice place with a great view for a little chat. Love your stuff, again.

PS> I once mentioned your nickname to an Ukrainian friend who strated laughing and said it's a great name - very original and clever, so well done !

Fabulous recording, lovely playing, singing etc.
I imagine the addition of strings in this coming in at about 1:05, then building to a crescendo for the end.  The only downside of this whole piece of lovely music is that it's too short!
Keep it up

Thank you all, guys.  But, really, all kudos to Bagram (that's "bgrm" to Ampers).  If only you knew... Regards.  P.S. Some day, some day for sure, JBP.

This is absolutely beautiful.  I wish the lyrics could be translated so I could understand what was being said. There is so much feeling in the vox, just excellent. Great guitar work, great production. High Votes from me!

Thank you, VK.  Basically it is "Sitting on the dock of the bay" the Russian way, i.e. on Volga's riverbank (instead of "Frisco bay") with "the mornin' sun" being a pink sunset and "the ships" that "roll in" and the "tide" that "rolls away" being fishermen pulling their nets.  Both protagonists are, of course, "wasting time" thinking of what's left behind and what lies ahead ("Nothing, comrade, absolutely nothing!" on both accounts...Make it on 3 accounts, fish: the Guy gets zilch.  It's Russia, after all!).  Regards.
