Ladies and gentlemen may I have your attention please, may I have your attention please
(Brendan)
I look in the mirror and see nothing
Makes me think, what have I been doing?
I have everything, yet my life is so incomplete
Why don’t ya just hit delete
-- yea --
It’s this life we live
I just don’t understand
Always looking for the next big thing to land
Our eyes are lit up by dollars
Waving goodbye to the white collars
-- peace --
Greed, fame, and fortune consume us
But at the end of the day it’s dust
The homeless man on the corner
With an arm outstretched
Searching for a donor
So easily we look the other way
Day after day
The answer is always
Not today
(Tom Singing/Brendan)
One little kid with stars in his eyes
(Dreaming of a future that he’ll never find)
One thing he knows is he’s gotta try
(Cuz it’s the only way that he’ll survive)
This is the shit that tears at your soul
(While everyone cares about the things they own)
And this boy’s dreams are never known
(And it makes me shiver that the world’s so cold)
(Tom)
Everyday someone cries, someone falls, someone dies
No one really knows why
No one ever really tries
To reach out
To the kids
With no home
With no friends
No one ever stops to think about the kids’ lives at stake
With no momma aint no poppa
Lost a sister
Aint no brother
Just another empty soul
Trying to find a way back home
Weeks go by and still alive
God knows he can still survive
--- Oh man ---
So instead of making the next time
Lend a hand
Give some time
To the kids
With no home
With no hope
With no love
And maybe we will understand
Life is something much more grand
--- Yea ---

(Brendan)
We think of ourselves as good people
But really what good have we done?
Watch out or this might turn into a rerun
The starving children
We see them over and over again
Each time they touch our heart
But we don’t even know where to start
Soon we forget their faces
Sinking back into our safety bases
(Tom)
--- But the call remains ---
--- Yea ---
(Brendan)
I say to myself why is it this way?
It’s because we do everything halfway
We live our perfect lives
And don’t think twice
How about this homeslice
It’s time to roll the dice
(Tom)
Some days I wonder why I don’t see
A tear in a kid’s eyes
Who don’t have everything a kid wants inside
Cuz God has given them the grace to live on
To live free
Like not we
To live life happily
And some days when we find that things that we thought
That we needed in this world
Were nothing but the greed of our hearts
Those kids will still be there
Those kids will still be here
They will be everywhere
And you can’t shut your eyes
Cuz there they lie
Deep in your heart
And in your mind
Just to make sure that you won’t forget
All the people you left behind

The Jungle, The Jungle, The Brothers, The Brothers |
I'm glad there's some hip hop around here.
Did you use a computer or turntables for the backing track?
The rapping seems out of time at parts.

Regardless of the music genre the intention puts this song in the right place.Theres some really good ideas in the background sounds and the Rap rhymes are great.Lyrics sadly carry the truth and hopefully will accomplish there goal.Good luck and may your dreams make a difference Spread the love
I get a feeling this song is not what it could be ?? Though it is good it could be 'better'!
I don't like rap and I don't get it, but I do appreciate your song!
The 'Shaker' is too much, it keeps on hassling my concentration! lol
I like your mans singing voice, very nice work.
The idea of rap is that the backing track is 'background' yet 'catchy' and that the 'art' is in the lyric , I do think you could sharpen up 'the rap' a little!
Sounds like a jungle of monks! (good name for a band! jungle of monks )

heey...the first thing i hear is that te rymes are out of rhytm...and your vocals got to much reverb...hope you can use this...love your backingtrack..goodluck
Nice first |
This is pretty cool... Yeah, I noticed the out of sync lyric right off, I have the same trouble sometimes, I have done a few hippity hop tunes already, one not suitable for this site, but I have up here, Hippity Hop Slop, and Jelly JimkStyle, the later of which was actually a song done by the inemitable Jason AKA Basketcase, and I was asked to drop some bass on it, well, I couldn't help but to add some Vocals as well.. I also did an anti-rap rap song, to let the Gansta rappers know we weren't gunna have none of that here... I will try to post it up again, if I can find it...
Anyway, on to yours, I love the instrumentation... it's pretty cool, I kind of disagree with Kings on the shaker, though I guess the level could be brought down a bit... I would love to have a copy of this minus the rap, to try my hand at it as well.. Though I think if you just tighten up a bit more, you'll be awesome on this.. Great stuff..

Very different style to what we usually have on BandAmp.
But very, very good.
I really like it.
