Melody and The Stone |
Part 1, The Calming Stone:
[instrumental]
Part 2, The Runaway:
Little girl, don't cry now
You ran so fast, you lost him
He's not chasing you now, girl
Don't cry, don't cry
But I know he's coming to
find you later, so go find
a good place to hide for your life
Right now I don't think that
hiding will help you
But anyway, you can't get down any longer than you have
Ah........................
Part 3, Melody:
[guitar solo]
She likes the sun
She hates bad weather
She, she likes to dress in black
She is tired everyday
She thinks everything looks big
She doesn't want to fall asleep
She has a secret place of her own
She likes to rest at the stone
How did you get through those days when everything went wrong?
Why didn't you belong anywhere?
anywhere, anywhere, anywhere
She looks up at the sky
She wish she could fly
She likes to dream the days away
She wants to drift slowly away
How did you get through those days when everything went wrong?
Why didn't you belong anywhere?
anywhere, anywhere, anywhere.........
[guitar solo]
Part 4, The Calming Stone (Reprise):
[guitar solo]
"Morning sun sneaks in. I don't want to get up." Oh, no.
The words of a broken girl who only have one thing in her life that keeps her up.
She doesn't like the morning sun, but the sun is one of her favorite things.
The stone, the stone is hers. Only hers.
Ah, when she's restless and tired, the quiet stone is her friend.
She found her peace of mind.
Her dreams become so real, and she never has nightmares
Oh, at the stone.
She wish she'd never wake up. She wish to live a dream.
But that could never happen, she knows that life is mean.
The stone, the stone is hers. Only hers.
Ah, when she's restless and tired, the quiet stone is her friend.
The stone, the stone is hers, hers, oh...
Ah, when she's restless and tired, the quiet stone is her friend.
She finally found her peace of mind.

Part 1:
I think you found it easily to convey your ideas here with the very basics. The lead you've written is alot more fluent and well written compared to earlier things I remember which you posted.
Part 2:
I found very dreary. No comment, but may have been more powerful and came across better with drums and bass to give it a boost
Part 3:
Still deary, but the vocals are more clearly . Reminds me of Brit Pop . (you might take that as an offence).
AAAAAAAAAH DISTORTION :p.
I'm sure jimmi would be proud with all that fuzz.. did you put a stomp into the line in? :P
Alot of high-frequency fizzle and square waveness, but it rocks hard :P.
In a bigger picture this is quite a piece of art .
I like the last part.

cool cool cool! what dat percussion I'm hearing (acu guitar body?)! wow that adds a whole lot to atmosphere. Love the swelling guitar too. Part I catches me right away. Interesting modulation effects in the end.
Wow severely psychedelic when the second part starts. It's getting darker... Much darker... A dark ride of suspense into the dark parts of the mind... And then
Part III seems to start off as something a little lighter. Something Roger Waters could've written - and should've put to a full arrangement! That's what I'd like to hear in the Part III, but
come Part IV with the heavy fuzz it's all psychedelic, all coming together now, yes I have to agree it's quite a piece of art, I can't really wait until you manage to really work it into really good arrangements (but keeping the minimal parts minimal ofcourse!)
keep experimenting, I'll keep listening

Not from this eatrh!
Sounds like you have some really creative ideas up in that head of yours.I really would like to see you try and do a song that holds some production in it so you can really start making some seriously awesome stuff.Wow you just keep getting better and better.Love the Vox melody too
I'll vote on this one
Keep them coming

Loving this.... If the recording was a little better this would be pro quality!
Thanks y'all!
Yes, you heard right. I'm tapping on my acoustic guitar, 'cause I'm tired of all those drum-loops. I think it adds more personality too.
It's psychedelic. It's supposed to sound very weird. I like it that way, but I don't like that part very much..
I wouldn't have called this 'a piece of art', though...

I started off not liking this very much - but the more I listen, the more I realised that as a composition it's pretty excellent really.
The guitar playing is minimalist - just carrying the song along in places, but working all the same.
The vocals at times are very good, but at times I think you're pushing your abilities slightly.
For me, this is a song only really let down by your current ability to record and play what's in your head. I give it a good vote, just because it's such a great composition.

Wow! that reminds me of a psychedelic radio play i heared once..
for me the music is really catching, so is the arrangement.. i don't
know whether it's because it's my taste, but i think it is a great piece of work.
hmm... and it still reminds me of a radio play.. i like it
i'd love to hear it recorded with some more professional equip..
