Marino/ToastedGoat Collab  This is the vocal scratch for Marino's Idea2 song
the words are based loosely around this. The last one was kinda sad so I thought I do one that's fun.

HellHounds...

verse1
It happened down at Lucky's bar
Just outside New Orleans
when in walked the hottest creole honey
my  lustful eyes had ever seen
wasn't long before I was making eyes and carrying on
when she said I like you some uh I'm gonna take you home

Chorus:

Be careful of yourself and who is wanting who
be careful of a blue eyed creole wanting to love on you
she'll love you up real good  then cast a spell or two
and you'll hear the hell hounds coming to collect their due..

Verse2
I woke up about four am smell of burnt hair and something frying
got up outta bed to the sight of chicken feathers flying ha ha
crazy ass blue eyed girl just a ranting bout satan's song
I freaked out and jumped out the window with nothing but my under pants on

Chorus:

Verse3:

Well I hit the ground a running and I ain't stopped since
my minds in a crazy whirl sumpin bout god an pennance
I got to keep on running can't lose a stride
hellhounds a coming boys coming to get my hide

chorus

Awesome vocals.... man this rocks.
To give this a deeper (purple) touch, I'd give this an organ

Maybe not the kind of music one would listen to in the 21st century, but this has such a great retro feel to it. Reminds me of stuff from Styx, Boston, BTO, ...
Neat piece of classic rock, you did there. Funny lyrics, could be from a country song

The arrangement and song itself are good. your vocals are exteemly expressive, the giutar solo was great.
I felt that the bass drum was overpowering everything, it only needs an ajustments in the mix. The only other thing I would say is that there was not much difference between the verces and chorus, a subtle difference could make the song more interesting. I think  the tone is too flat in places, if you tweek up the middle and treble your vocals will ring, it's only a suggestion, but it may make all the difference.

okay, our two pro guitar rockers get together to "squeeze one out". I've been waiting for this... This seriously rocks! Love the heavy, riffy groove, the super-saturated guitars. Love the vocals, Toastedgoat! Never heard you sing like this. Lots of power there! Like the lyric content (hedonistic debauchery...there's always a price to pay, isn't it?)

I think its dead cool, a scream!

There was something bugging me about the feel/place of the vocals, but I couldn't put it into words, then out of the blue came 3:50 to 3:57, that's how I'd love to hear your vocal for the rest of the song, crisper!

I also think that some one should make the break at 2:10 into something much bigger, not the soft funky (excellent) solo that it is.
There at 3:00, that guitar should be all the way through the break.
I think this because Toastedgoat has such a powerful voice and to break off into 'a little funky number' does not balance the power in the song.
That break needs to SCREAM THE HELLHOUNDS!

Know what I mean?

oohhh man kings your killing me lol
that was a f'd deal there at 350 - 357 that was a punch in I did ,and I didn't notice that I had bumped the fader up a notch. Everythiing is the same eq/effects ect but it is just louder, lol  Because I'm singing at a loud volume, I trying not to overpower all the cool stuff Marino did in this song. Working with this song I keep hearing little things in it that make it so cool, I didn't want my vocals to overide them.  I have the mids and highs tweaked up just the volume is down  the top end from  8k on up is on an upward slope to 3db at the very top end the whole high end range is shelfed up 1.0 db on all effects and vocal channels. This was a fun song to do I still have some fixes cause I was flat in a few spots and I need to fix the punch in.

Thsnks for the comments they're appreciated.

Coming around again....
Thanks Flyer for bringing this up!
I listened and read again and I still think you should put a 'kick ass' guitar concerto in at 2:09 and I still think TG could raise the volume on his vocal, I really don't think it could take away any of the magical guitar work!
Sorry just poking around  !
