This song is not in a battle

The background track to a video game I helped code. It's not my best work, but I thought I had reasonably good production and a good main riff.

I think the lead needs to come forward a bit and actually lead, not sure but it sounds a bit off key over the chugging in the back... And kick some drum into it... Not bad though

Hmm....groove sound, I like the rhythm guitar.
What's the game about? Something like crush, kill n destroy? Cause song makes me think that way. Lead guitar - what you need is melody. That's my opinion. Keep Rockin' and good luck.

Heh. The game was supposed to be something like that, but ended up more like "walk around and get stuff". That's what having deadlines does to you occasionally. FTR, I really wasn't looking for melody in the guitar solo, in fact, I was just trying to get a good groove out of the rhythm guitar and change it up with the leads (I.E. not have the guitar work be distracting). The solo is in e dorian for anybody with questions about key.

Good sound, maybe out of time here and there...

I think that having the lead guitar not in the forefront of the song was more distracting.  Sometimes it doesn't seem to follow the rythm or falls out of time.

Need to change it up a bit and add a band. Would be cooler, but cool as is.

I thought that the change in timing, or rhythm, was distracting. Game music should add to, not distract from a game, and I think that, while I liked the overall feel, that I kept being drawn to the guitar.
Ditto Chauvette, build it up overtime by adding more, or take it somewhere else after a while.
